Okay, then my last question regarding this is the Essence adjustment. If the DJ is normally 0.1, and the Alphaware gives it a 0.8 multiplier, does that make the final cost 0.08? Does Essence go down to the hundredths digit? Instead of 5.2, would my Essence be 5.18?

Yup!

Yeah, you extend it however many decimal points are needed. I built a character with 5.0625 Essence from an Adrenaline Pump (1) [Used]

I'm baaack!

Convention was a lot of fun, lots of dice rolled and my son (who is 10) had a blast (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Jack is spot on, the reason to get the DJ as an Alpha is to make it's Wireless bonus harder to negate with noise, and the 200 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) price increase is negligible compared to the +1 Device Rating bonus.

As far as Essence, yes, it can go to an unlimited number of decimal places - I had a player in one of my games back in SR 2 get his essence down to .048. I had a Star Wars soundboard that I used to use whenever his character met someone that played "He's more machine now than man, twisted and evil".

AND, by the way, that was before Bioware cost essence. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif)

Glad you and your son had fun. I wish I could get away going to a con. My wife hates (but has learned that she has to accept) the limited amount of nerdery I get away with...

Sad to hear that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

I know of only one convention in your area - some of my friends make the trip but New Orleans is a bit far for me to travel.

Mel is finalizing some stuff on the character, I expect to have the first IC posts up for the new adventure (as well as the latest edition of the Tribune) up tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. I'll do it the same as last time, small vignettes for each character.
