IC: Back into the Barrens, Val & Hardwire Options

Val notices the added security arrive whole making his way inside. Did the doc have a suprise for them, we're the Lord's looking for a score and decide that safe haven wasn't worth the wrath of the vory and think of turning in Val and hardwire. Maybe Val was being overly cautious, of course being to careful never killed anyone. Using in his alpha using the link to load a grenade round, turning the safe off and switching to full auto mode and readying in increased reflexes were only reflex to dangerous situations. One he didn't know for sure if they were currently in. Regardless the added gangers weren't by coincidence there was a meaning to having backup, until they talked with doc phin and got their information straight everyone was to not be trusted if there was any in the first place.

The newly arrived pair remain outside, while the second of the original gangers follow the trio into the office. The doc sits in a wheel chair, a ballon'ish looking cast on his left knee. The old oriental ork looks a decade older and more feeble since Val and Hardwire last saw him. His secretary, Mary, a middle-aged ork woman glares at Val.

The doc holds out a credstick. "As per the agreement." He pauses a moment, lets loose a wracking cough, then visually notes the new addition to the crew, before asking, "What will you do next?"

Noticing the orks scowl and glare Val sits next to the doc taking the payment and handing it to hardwire. Turning to regard the injured doc again."Actually doc we were hoping you would be able to help us find the answer to that, I see the aftermath of our diappearance hit closer to home than expected. I do apologize about the visit from the vory. We need confirmation yuri is dead though, i dont know if i believe what was written. If the vory wanted to exact revenge, I know not how they would have known your involvement unless they were able to track you through the job I had performed for you." Val settles a little and starts to remembers anyone and everyone is never considered untouchable in this business. " we have been out of the loop the past three weeks and hoping you could help catch us up?"

"Looks like I'll have to do the introductions", Hardwire thinks and lays out what little they know about what happened three weeks before and since their rude awakening. "Somehow both Athena and Yuri must have put contingencies in place...hers is really weird, but I think Yuri's is more pressing...anyone got ideas how we get those goons off our backs?"

"Also, before we get to those mystery owls I need to figure out how much the Doc actually knows about Athena", he thinks, discreetly looking around for something that looks like a computerized filing.

Doc Phin rubs his chin with his hand, considering the questions. "I cannot confirm Yuri's death, though according to accounts, he is deceased. The men who came here looking for you... I believe they are soldiers for a Vory called Kirill. Yury was a lieutenant of Kirill's." The old ork winces a moment and holds his leg before continuing. "They were asking about you; the one's who paid me a visit. They seemed to be on a fishing expedition. They knew you were in this area. They'd tied you to the appropriation of the drugs and the drugs to me."

He paused a moment, looking to Hardwire. "Honestly, I thought you all had died with Yuri. The one's questioning me were asking about Val and someone named Vladamir."

"Kirill Yunter, we've come across that name, too".Hardwire nods and turns towards Val. "I guess you can tell the story better than me...and I guess we should use the occasion to explain Xaver what he got himself into..."

Doc Phin nods, "Yes. Besides the contingency that Athena put into place, I fear I am very much in the dark about a lot of the details."

"To be honest doc I don't know how much you want to know....I will tell you that Athenas killers and I have a past and Kirill was the one who ordered yuri to kill her. The vory and I have a very real and very personal past, which is why I didn't have a problem dealing with yuri dead or in custody. Dead was preferred so I am not said but justice has not been served until we get the one ultimately responsible who is Kirill. He is ruthless cunning and most of all after Me from the look and sound of things. The other name you mentioned is dead. Let the name escape you and never return to thoughts. The less you know the less they can scare or try to force you to say if they return. Which is one reason why we needed to be brought up to speed. Kirill I take it is after us for yuri death to make a statement. The Lord's were involved with as we're you and your lovely assistant. In return for your generosity and support I will take it upon myself to assist in dealing with Kirill and putting a stop to his seeking vengeance and retribution." looking at hardwire and paddy "I cannot speak for these two but compensation will be required for their time and efforts. Their help would be much appreciated."

Doc Phin takes it all in, but does not speak. The ganger next to him, however, does speak. "We got a vested in this Kirill- Death benefits, medical insurance. You know... debts to settle." He looks the trio over, "but your boy Kirill seems pretty connected... and pretty insulated."

"Before we talk about what we do...Val and I were after Yuri because he and his men murdered Athena. Xander, that matrix owl which told you to pick us up must have been some kind of contingency plan from Athena...but so far you haven't really been involved. Kirill wants our guts because whatever happened at Yuri's place" he waves burnt remains of his commlink, noticing with slight amusement how one of the guards flinches. "So I guess this is your chance to say frag no and get off while you can, before spirits know how many Vory want you dead. Got a reason to stay here, or are you gonna take the door?"

This time val rises from his seated position and awaits the answer from the gangers and doc Phin. "this will be a man hunt and a all out declaration of war for the lords agains the vory if you decide to carry on with this. Doc this facility may come under attack again if they connect you to any further attacks against Kirill and the Vory. Moving forward from here means we are committed till the end." Val looks over the payment while the others decide what they want to do. Turning towards Hardwire "look for any new movement from vory and chatter out there about retaliation towards. we will also need some new gear and clothes. Ill contact my contact to get us fixed up."

The ganger listens to the conversation before injecting, "We ain't going to open war with the Vory, but we do owe some payback." He looks to Doc's leg, before looking back to the team. "And the Vory did bring this war to our doorstep." He pauses before continuing, "You all did us a solid with the meds, so we ain't holding the encroachment against you."

Doc Phin raises a hand, then speaks, "This seems to be a never ending escalation. Is there no way to de-escalate?"

Looking to the doc and the ganger val paces slowly thinking a moment "if we can make the vory deal with krill for us that may subside any retaliation to either party. Hurt kirill where it hurts, yuri was meeting a police officer at the warehouse for a reason. If we can use that and make krill look bad to the vory it may give us a chance to make a deal with the vory. Say information kirill is going to go it alone or attempt to replace his boss, or that he made a deal with the knight.."

Thankfully the doc seemed like a voice of reason. "I'm with the Doc on this one. Kirill is after us because Yuri is dead, if we geek him they'll just be inclined to send bigger guns. Not a sustainable strategy..."

[Saytr]

"If we frame kirill for the death of yuri the vory will not care. However if we could somehow get knight errant on board with it we may be able to keep the lords and doc out if the vory sights. They are focused on me from the sounds of it. Framing kirill for the death of yuri would be the safest plan. If the vory see kirill in trouble and no way to wipe it clean the last thing g they will want to do is have him arrested and making deals with the knight errant for a deal for yuri murder. Especially if we can make it look like yuri was making a deal with the cops and kirill responsible for the blast, after all its a dead cop right." Val mutters to himself afterwards I wish I knew if I had any other contacts that could help. These flashes are confusing and overwhelming at the same time.

Doc looks the team over for a moment after Val finishes, "Say, where is that detective... What's his name? Oh yes, Bob. He could definitely help you dig up some details here. I believe he used to be a cop."

"The Vory v Zacone have rules that are sacred. They don't make deals with cops. They won't care if Kirill goes to jail. Matter of fact, if he's a Vor with a capital "V" and not just a vory, he would have had to have done prison time to get the status."

" than we have to settle the score with out the Vory finding out who did it"

The mention of Bob makes Hardwire shudder involuntarily, a reminder of the stakes at hand. "Bob...didn't make it. They got him at the warehouse"

Val looks the ganger and his two fellows one he just met. " well first find the prey, learn him study him than once we can find a angle to use to geek him straight and not have it lead back to use we move. I don't suppose any of this trucks are still about. We could always use more info, if we can get our hands on one of the trucks might have GPS on kirills hang outs and locations. Or hardwire could hack one of their come to see where he is to start." Val looks around than to the doctor again....."did you sweep for bugs after the vory visit?"

Padrig thinks to himself, Geez, what would my poor dead Da think about this. These guys are dealing with cops and gangers. And throw in the Vory to boot. What a recipe for disaster. Well Paddy me boy, just my kind of action.
