You just pointed me to a webcomic.
This forum is responsible for me becoming somewhat addicted to three different webcomics, the last of which was Schlock Mercenary. I read the whole thing, it's running on a comic strip per day since 2003. Now I just clicked around on that site you pointed me to and found a Schlock Mercenary reference. This is getting really hard to not further explore now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) But: This time I'll save my time. Anyway, the links you gave were hilarious, thanks. I also like that "Roger" character, I think. |

Whoa! I totally forgot The Whiteboard was a thing! I have to go reread the whole archives now, and catch up from the point where I left off.

You should read the whole strip, its good campy fun.
'Doc' even made a full size model of Schlock's gun for Mr. Taylor which you can see here: http://www.docsmachine.com/projects/bh209/plasmagallery.html Power supply not included. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Though I hear Mr. Taylor does a very creepy and ominous hum when showing off with it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Rumors persist that Schlockverse IA Division Captain Landon is based on the Doc character, but even if not there is always this: http://www.the-whiteboard.com/autotwb1901.html And yes, the Koala telling the tale happens to have the initial P.D. as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ...that's going to take forever. You MONSTER! You are just NOW realizing that? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Anyway back on topic...
While you are at it, why not look at Mystic Adept for added fun like Commanding Voice (street grimoire) to tie in with your Leadership skill (you ARE taking Leadership right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) ) |

Well, I ended up opting for a an aspected magician (conjurer) so I had higher priorities left for Atribs and Skills.
But enlighten me on Leadership and this "commanding voice", please ? (it sounds pretty much as like jedi stuff, by the way) |

Commanding Voice is so much fun, but you have to save it for the proper moments or risk the annoyance of your GM.
-Info Below Pertains to 4E- You make a short command (five words or less) with an Opposed Test of Leadership + Charisma vs. Willpower + Leadership. Multiple targets gives +1 die per target beyond the first to the largest dice pool of the group, capping at +5. If you win the test, they either immediately carry out your command or stand confused (GM Fiat, more net hits should make it likelier they obey). The effect does not last - they perform the task, then go back to normal. Targets have to be able to both hear AND understand commands. Does not work through technological transmission or amplification. Subsequent uses on the same target(s) suffer -2 dice for each use within 24 hours. Neat trick - pair it with Voice Control for the ability to mimic voices and "throw your voice" up to Magic x 2 meters. Since this form of transmission and amplification is magical, not technological, it works like a charm. Had a player once use it to impersonate a military squad leader and order his platoon to "Stand down! Let them pass!", and since the Adept succeeded in the Voice Control Con Test, they took it as a real order instead of just an unexplained compulsion and kept their guns lowered. Another time when I was a player rather than a GM, I threw my voice inside of a helicopter gunship cockpit in order to be heard by the pilot and make him crash. Get creative - you can do some very cool and powerful things with it. ~Umi |

Leadership is a social skill you can find in Core and pgs 141-142 cover some of it's uses.
Commanding Voice is taking it up a notch with a sprinkling of mojo to enhance your persuasiveness. QUOTE (Street Grimoire pg 170) COMMANDING VOICE COST: 0.25 PP PER LEVEL (MAX 3) Adepts with this power have a knack for convincing people to believe them or do things for them in certain situations. For every level of this power, an adept gains a +1 die to any Opposed Intimidation or Leadership tests that they initiate (normal limits apply). If the adept succeeds, then the target(s) will agree to or follow the adept’s next suggestion or command, within reason and depending on the situation. A subject won’t normally harm himself for example, but he may be persuaded that the pretty-boy elf over there was making moves on his girl/guy and that punching said elf is a good idea. Or an adept may convince a corporate secretary to give up some dirt on her boss. To keep this power in check, gamemasters can also grant targets a situational bonus based on how inclined the subject would be to believe the adept. An adept can attempt to use this ability on up to (Charisma) people at a time, with a –1 dice pool for any additional subjects. So yeah it can be a little Jedi (Jedi-lite?) but properly applied in the right circumstances can be so handy. |

Sorry to derail - but was discussing the "Possession Face" with the lovely and we had to make what we'd imagine to be a "Possession face" - as in an actual pysical face.
...We're still giggling at it so far. Even the Pornomancers couldn't make worse:) -Tir. |
