Sounds like a prime candidate for job replacement by drones.

I generally agree, but considering the poverty levels in some areas I would find it possible that the job exists as a means of gathering food, not necessarily for oneself but maybe sell it to rundown soup kitchen or restaurant.
Some poorer local governments might also decide that it is not worth investing into drones for the job when meatlabor is cheaper and easier to replace (collecting roadkill on a speedway is dangerous kids!).

What many people forget is that in the Sixth World... meat is cheap... cheaper than drones sometimes. Many jobs that can be done by drones are just not worth the investment when you can pick some unskilled labor from the street for half the price or less. If the job is dangerous even more though... if you have to replace a drone every month it is cheaper to just get another meatbag from the street every week.
Even with labor that requires some skill. Sometimes it might be cheaper to get that scum from the street, put some cheap skillwires in them (recycled from their predecessor) and put them on the job.
I remember reading that these guys can even double as security "drones" in a pinch.

Just because drones can do the job does not mean that it is cost efficient.

Another consideration is that large power players will explicitly create make-work jobs just to stabilise and pacify a population.

"See? We value you! Here's a salary! Buy some beer, watch the boobies, don't make waves!"

That factor helps counterbalance the costs of hiring people.

It's even more than that: the average corp employee doesn't only produce stuff, he also consumes it.

But as far as roadkill is concerned, I don't think you'll need to pay anyone for that job. If poor people don't do it to get food, they'll do it to sell it: meat is supposed to be a luxury product.

Not to mention that in some areas, drones would be summarily jacked and sold for profit. Other than Tanamous, selling SINless is not really profitable. And then there is the bushmeat gray market that has been mentioned. Some roadkill cleaners could make a really good living on some paracritters that didn't survive meeting a roadmaster for the first time. Just saying.
