We have two AKs. There's also a distiction between weapon accessories and mods. Accessories can be added or removed. Mods are integrated into the weapon. Since you're giving thresholds, then those are from the mods section, if memory serves me right. Can you double check to see if there are accessory versions of the grenade launcher and foregrip and if the prices for the accessory versions of the rest of the items are the same in the core book? And please see if there are any rules for installing accessories that are distinct from mods. The AK-97 Carbine (submachine gun): 5P, SA/BF/FA, RC (1), Ammo: 30©, Availability 4R, Cost: 400 The AK-97 (assault rifle): 6P, AP -1, SA/BF/FA, no RC, Ammo: 38©, Availability 4R, Cost: 500 The AK-98 (assault rifle): 6P, AP -1, SA/BF/FA, no RC, Ammo: 38©, Availability 8F, Cost: 1000; includes grenade launcher (SS, 6m) Accessory: Sling: Costs 15; not sure why this is 5 more than the "mod" version. The entry under Accessories only talks about making it easier to hold onto the weapon; the Modifications entry (no slots, kit, threshold 4) gives concealability and recoil compensation as well. o_O Gas-vent System: Listed as an accessory in SR4a, but is really a mod. Stats as Farothel noted. Smartgun system: My copy of SR4a lists the Top/Under accessory as 400 (not 500) nuyen, 4R. The Modification is "weapon cost", threshold 8, availability 6R, shop. Foregrip under, cost 100, shop, treshold 2 as farothel noted. The foregrip mod also gives +1 Concealability; 1 slot, costs 50, treshold 8, shop. Laser Sight: Accessory: top/under, availability 2, cost 100. Grenade Launcher: I'm not seeing this as an accessory or a mod, except on specific weapons. Not seeing it in Chummer, either. QUOTE (Arsenal @ page 148) Modifications vs. Accessories
Some of the weapon modifications presented in this list are also available as firearm accessories. The difference between the two of them is that accessories can be installed without requiring extensive mechanical knowledge, while modifications require an application of the modification rules mentioned at the beginning of this chapter. Please note that a firearm can only hold one upgrade of a type, either from a modification or from an accessory. Once a firearm holds a modification of a particular type, it cannot be further equipped with an accessory of that type. On the other hand, if a weapon has an accessory attached to it, this accessory must be removed before a modification of the same type can be installed. If an off-the-rack weapon comes with certain upgrades like smartgun, gas-vent system, etc., it is assumed that those upgrades are modifications instead of accessories. However, those modifications do not count toward the slot limit and the weapons themselves still count as unmodified. |

Thank you both. Final questions, I promise, the extended test interval is kit - 15 mintues, shop - 1 hour, facility - 1 day, correct? Do any of the aforementioned items require additional skills to install?

Smartgun system: My copy of SR4a lists the Top/Under accessory as 400 (not 500) nuyen, 4R. The Modification is "weapon cost", threshold 8, availability 6R, shop. I had it indeed as 'weapon cost'. Since the weapon costs 500, that's what I put down. A smartgun system costs as much as the weapon you have to install it on. That's why I normally go for weapons with smartgun installed (mostly Ares weapons). |

So, Titan is gone. I started that, and I'm truly sorry if anyone feels I was out of bounds. I just wasn't okay with him trash talking us or our game any longer. My tipping point was him throwing Rhat and Hydro's misfortunes in our faces, as if real life problems don't hold sway.
New Beginnings is almost on its fifth year. Three of us have been here from the start and Mercy has been here for the majority at this point. PBP games die in months, if not weeks. This game's longevity is a testament to the fact that it means something to us. I couldn't swallow Titan's disrespect any longer. I hope everyone understands. But moving forward, unless Crossbow has gotten PM replies to his thread, we don't have a player for Clem. Should she become an NPC or should one of the players take the reigns? |

I am all for either solution, except that I do not think I can do an adequate job with her. I would say we keep her around, though. I hate to just see characters go away in the middle of a run.
I have liked the game since I started or I would not still be here. I have learned a lot by playing, and do appreciate that you guys have had the patience to deal with someone who is playing outside his comfort zone as a hacker. |

I think I'd rather either a) Crossbow runs Clem as an NPC, or b) Crossbow writes Clem out of the story and has Jane pull in a new PC to shore up the team, similar to how Mercy replaced RHat.

Just to say that I will be away from tomorrow (4th of October) until the 16th without internet access. Sammy will be just following the rest of the group. I'll do the wards when I come back.
If Sammy is really needed for something, Mercy can write for her (the character is in the OOC topic). |

Do we know if Lil' Homie is yoruba or igbo, and have we seen anything that physically differentiates the two tribes?
Also, isn't it past midnight? Is Lagos still popping this late, or are we on the next day? |

If he is Igbo, he has learned fluency in Yoruba as well as English. There is no physical differentiators you can spot at this point, it is like trying to tell the difference between two different sects of Protestants.
Your time awareness is spot on, it is very late night/very early morning in Lagos. It is a 24 hour city, though it does reach a certain lull about this time like most places and there is a marked increase in nocturnal hunting in it's various magical and mundane varieties. Wouldn't be the worst idea to save the shopping trip for midday, but then you get the press of humanity. |

Since this shopping trip is coming out of the team fund, what's the conversion fee at hawalas?

Sorry for being out of touch without warning; I was leading a Cub Scout campout this weekend, and spent much of the latter part of last week wrapped up in the preparations.

O'Connor's looking to learn who the local power players are, and what gangs have what turf.

I think we can go to the next day, or next part if the following day would not be interesting.
