How far away from Torley is the freight truck under which Medjay is hiding.?

Same question for the distance to the mage. For this guy, I'm thinking a simple "STAND UP" might suffice for a combo of Commanding Voice and Voice Control.

Let's just say that everyone has pouches and grenades. No one is a grenadier, but smoke can be dropped at our feet to create cover, and I still think we can have Starlet send spirits to drop tear gas and flashbangs on top of enemies.

You are about 500 meters away from the combat, which means you can barely see anyone, let alone a specific person under heavy cover, and your voice would be lost in the chaos.

Simple Action: Take Aim (Image Magnification)

QUOTE (Shadowrun Anniversary Edition p. 150)
Attacker Using Image Magnification
Image magnification equipment allows the character to “zoom in” on the target, reducing the Range category to Short, and thus eliminating any range modifiers. The character must take a Take Aim action (p. 148) to “lock onto” the target (the Take Aim does not apply a +1 aiming bonus for this purpose, unless additional Take Aim actions are made). As long as the target and attacker do not move, the attacker remains locked on and may continue to get the image magnification bonus on subsequent actions without further Take Aim actions. Image magnification can be used in conjunction with a laser sight or smartlinked weapon (but not both).

QUOTE (Crossbow @ Jul 1 2024, 12:25 AM) *
O'Conner put most of the burst on target, even at this distance. (OOC:-6 to pool for extreme range)

I also forgot to add smartlink to that attack roll.

Now what is the plan?

That depends. Your description is lacking in details. Con hit the drone, but did he do any significant damage? Does Con still have it in sight, or is it taking evasive maneuvers requiring new perception rolls and image magnification actions?

You can't aim at something you can't see.

After being attacked, the mage has ducked himself completely down and out of sight, you can set a trigger if he pops back up.

Which is BEHIND an object, so you have no idea where he will appear from behind that cover, so you cant aim at that point.

Apologies, I lack an understanding of the battlefield layout. With the description available, theater of the mind has me envisioning all combatants in, basically, a straight line. That being, if Apep is taking cover from the Area Boys, then they're exposed to us from behind. What is the layout then? With the mage unexposed, can I switch targets to the Doberman?

That should take care of the mage, or at least keep him occupied for a while.

Sorry about spotty responses guys. Traveling holiday weekend, after starting a new job after moving to a new city after computer decided Bluetooth and wifi don't exist anymore.

I will try to give a better picture of the battlefield Monday, after work.

Better late than never.

The far end of the battlefield is the two buses that are blocking traffic traveling to the airport. They are aflame.

The Apep crew are in front of the buses, they have all taken cover, including the Doberman, behind cars and other solid objects.

The truck where Medjay is hiding is in the middle of the street about 10-20 meters in front of the Apep guys.

About 10 meters in front of him are the buildings being defended by the Area Boys. They are three and four story apartment buildings on either side of the street, with what was at least a dozen orks firing at Apep.

Then about 300 meters back from that are the runners.

Thank you for the clarification. If Con where to hold his action to wait for a target, would he suffer from the range penalty or could he use image magnification to zoom in on the general area?

You are smartlinked to the weapon, so activating and deactivating image mag is a free action.

Need everyone to go ahead and roll initiative.
