Been two years since I ran an SR4 game and I can't remember what the Response or Signal for an Agent program is if a hacker uploads it independently onto a node.
If it were on the hackers commlink, said commlink's attributes would be use. While Unwired offers some sample nodes for various hubs, there is no listing for say a warehouse security system. I anyone can point to where in the rules this is listed that'd be a big help. Sign-- Wacky |

I *think* that Agents use the Matrix attributes of the device they run on, and their rating (up to 6) for attributes. But I haven't played 4e in a looong time, and I don't have my books here, so I may be completely off target here.

QUOTE (SR4A @ Page 234) Agents use the Response attribute of the node on which they are running; this means that the attributes of an agent operating independently may vary as it moves from node to node.

Ok, SR4 is my game, so I'll look this up.
Agents are covered in SR4A, pp. 234 - 235 and SR4 Unwired, pp. 87, 100, 111 - 113. From what I'm reading, it would use that node's Response and Signal ratings. |

I kinda figured that, but I'm also wondering what would be a good default rating to the (Warehouse) Node in question? Any recommendations for this would be appreciated--just go with a gut rule calling, I'm easy to live with (or so I tell people (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ). Thanks to everyone who replied! Sign-- Wacky PS-- SR4 is my jam as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Where's the warehouse? That's going to vary a lot - a warehouse on the edge of the Barrens and a warehouse inside an MCT Zero Zone are going to have very different ratings.

It'd be an artificial island in the Puget Sound--Seattle 2072 says several were built there along with the five naturally occurring ones. I figured Ares (the company the runners were going against) created it to have a shipping hub that they could load cargo onto and then off of with greater ease than going onto land with a shipping container.
I won't go into the backstory of the adventure but that's a decent summary. Sign-- Wacky |

At least Rating 5 then. That sounds fair then. Thank you for all the help. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Sign-- Wacky |
