So, who wants to look at what file first?

Unless she gets requested to look at something else instead, Tamarind will dive into the drone files, of course! (but so long as they are in the Arcology, doing so in AR -- definitely does not qualify as a safe place to leave her senseless body).

I don't see them browsing 100's pages of files with specters and BGC and all the nasty things in there.

Hoo, that was a long one. I was definitely wringing my hands a bit.

I don't want to abandon Dumpshock, and it has always come back, but at the same time I don't want it to scuttle the game. I'll at least broach the topic of whether we want to stay or go. This is our third site, so we have plenty of precedent for moving.

Thanee, as an admin, do you have any insights about Dumpshock?

I've had good experiences with Discord for RPGs

If you all agree, I can whip up a channel

I like forums better for the ability to easily go back to page one of a thread, and comfort of reading longer posts (certainly on the official Catalyst SR Discord I find longer discussions kind of painful to read).. But at this point a back up plan seems like a very good idea!

Come to think of it I've only used Discord on my phone, is the computer experience much different?

PS my Discord user name is Vashkiri, it looks like per-server naming is only available with Nitro, sorry for any resulting confusion.

Err, no. You can definitely change your name on every server you join without getting Nitro.

I have Discord and I use it every day.

That said, I did use it a couple times for PbP games and found it awkward. It doesn't have all the formatting options that we do here. And, like Beta, I found it hard to search back in the thread for things which happened before. And if there's a way to export a thread - which would make going over old posts easier - I never found it. (If someone knows, please tell me. I'd like to get a copy of my old game.)

I might suggest that we stay on Dumpshock for the moment, but it would be nice to set up a backup plan in case things go sideways again. My user name (I think) is "tecumseh." with the period. Not too much of a stretch, and the little avatar should be the same too. And, yes, you definitely can change your name on each server.

Yes, I prefer old school forum play too - though discord is useful to organize during an outage and to keep things going. The lack of a good search function is indeed a problem with the channels.

Hold on, I need to level-set here. I'm a bit rusty from the long layoff.

So we're thinking that Diego's team did not go missing in the Arcology? I know there was a lack of second footprints in the dust, which was suspicious, but now the clues are pointing toward Diego's team disappearing somewhere else? Like, while investigating safety deposit boxes?

I mean, we only found two sets of tracks from them. One leading in and one getting out. So, yeah, it is very likely they are not in here.

I assume, this trip here was where they found the stuff (drone parts, etc.) that we found in the locked room at their place. And amongst those (or maybe in those safety deposit boxes) they found something that they then started to investigate. The big thing that Diego teasered.

I agree that Diego and team appear not to have disappeared in_this_part_ of the Arcology. Possibly their trail led them back into the Arcology, but a different section. Possibly it led them elsewhere. Either way, I think we need to cast around and find their trail again.

Only challenge is that at the moment there is a lot of uncertainty. We will investigate the files to see if they suggest anything, we can check out the safety deposit boxes --- but if they found something promising and/or valuable wouldn't they have taken it? Maybe there is some other avenue of investigation that I'm not thinking of yet, but I think we start with those two?

You are on the right track - it's important to note that the otaku that collected the files has hinted at the fact that the content of those files was already very limited knowledge during his time. After the arcology shutdown, it's very likely that you and Diego's crew are the only ones possessing this knowledge.

I must admit that I feel a bit lost on to where we should go next and what to do. My best idea is to see if we can find the wirdoes and ask them questions.

Well, there is the approach of going to the other three banks and look for clues in those lockboxes.

Mato did make a good point in that those nanite-folk won't talk to us. Of course, in the Underground we might have some more means than in the middle of Downtown.
