You all make plenty of good points against my case. I dunno, something still just strikes me as odd to hit them for triple over-deadly... in the arm. Though you probably have rules for "in this or that instance" regarding such things. I suppose if I had the time and energy I'd do a bunch more research on the issue and possibly open up another thread, but that has about zero chance of actually happening. Oh well.
I like most of what I've read though. If your campaign with pete, becca, jordan gets off the ground let me know how these rules work out. I may be tempted to steal them depending on what direction my group(s) want to go in stylistically, though chances are they will lean more towards abstraction than realism, from what I've seen so far. ::wave:: okay, probably my last dumpshock visit for a while. ciao. |

Sorry for any incoherency; was rather late and I had no slept in some time. Personally, I tend to lean towards thinking that once 5.56x45mm NATO, once its speed has dropped below its threshold of fragmentation (150m or thereabout out of a full size, modern M16, as I recall), would be much closer to high powered Light damage than the Moderate I believe it would start at. In that vein, I feel that PDW calibers like 5.7x28mm and 4.7x33mm would also be more accurately represented by sufficiently high powered Light as opposed to low powered Moderate. That said, though, I think I would, just very slightly, find 5.56x45mm doing Moderate at ranges beyond 150m more believable than PDWs doing Moderate, but that is really not that significant.
With some luck, should be seeing at least some of those soonish.
Heh. No disagreement that it's better, but I had been hoping to find a more mechanically viable solution— and I'd still like to, but it's certainly not impossible to mostly dodge by just explaining things creatively.
Again, would be advisable for you to read through the previous two threads (each links back to the preceding one). No limb shot can exceed Deadly; Over Deadly damage is limited to groin, chest, and head shots, and I'm not sure I even want to leave it as possible with groin shots. |

Doesn't require a whole lot of "in this instance"s, either. Hit to the limb = No Over-Damage (or, in my case, nothing over Serious), hit to the head = +1 DL. I don't have any written-down rules concerning special effects of being hit in certain places, even, I usually that by description and a few TN mods here and there if I feel like it.
