Hey Mac Users, I've got a Beta Version of my SR3 Firearm Designer up and on my website at:
ShadowGhost's Web Mac OS X Shadowrun Software Nothing to install, just unstuff and use. If you don't have the Canon Companion, you won't know what a lot of options are for. Guns you create can be saved, opened, modified and resaved. Let me know of any errors, bugs, or mistakes (i.e. errata, wrong amounts for FCU and DP etc). And let me know what you think, either via PM, or email (on the website). Enjoy! |

Looks pretty good!
I don't have my copy of CC handy to do an exhaustive check if it's using the FCU's properly and all that, but it seems to be working properly from memory. I've created a few guns and things with it and it seems to save/load just fine. Now, a few comments and questions... Are you going to add in some sort of exporting to XML or something so that the stat block can be printed/exported or something easily? I realize it can just be copied from the program, but I thought I'd ask. Also, I think trying to make the program window smaller might be a nice goal, it take up most of the screen of my 15" PowerBook and it's probably a tad large for people on a 12" iBook or PowerBook. Other than that, I think this is pretty cool. It's great to finally see some OS X development happening! Keep up the good work! [edit] Oh, I did forget something, the slider for the extended clip is a little cumbersome, trying to move it just one tick is a little harder than it should be and it seemed to want to jump at least two with a small movement. You might just try a drop down or something else if the slider sensitivity can't be adjusted. |

Thanks for the comments. I did set this up to make sure it fit on my 14" Lombard PB (1024x768 screen)
As I get errors and omissions, I'll tweak it and release a new beta in a couple, weeks, and tighten it up so it takes less screen real estate. I will be adding a feature so you can export the data as a text file to print off the stat block and all the notes for each weapon (mounts, accessories, RC etc). Trying to figure out the printing is a little beyond my capabilities right now. This is my first program. |

Hey, you've got to start somewhere, right? It's pretty damned impressive for a first try. The world needs more OS X developers :-)
