My quote function doesn't seem to be working. Is it just me or is this a wide spread problem?

QUOTE
Seems to be working fine.

<quote>Seems to be working fine.</quote>

You need to do it like that, but with []s instead of <>s. From what I've seen of your posts, you just need to add the closing tag.

this seems like a good place for this bug report. it seems like the first comma in a quote gets turned into an @ sign. it does this regardless of whether or not the emoticons are allowed.

It's not a bug, though. It's definitely a feature. It's there because the normal Quote-line format is "Author Comma Time", which comes out as "mfb @ 5:30 PM today" or whatever. Of course they could just change the format into "Author At Time" and get rid of the "," -> "@" thingie.

[Edit]What I mean to say is, when you use the QUOTE link in the thread, the text in the lower box (the quoted text) will be surrounded by <QUOTE=Author, Time Stamp></QUOTE>, which the board then turns into
QUOTE (Author @ Time Stamp)
this
to emphasize that the Author said this at the particular time.

Or something like that.[/Edit]

QUOTE (Austere Emancipator @ Oct 12 2004, 11:31 AM)
Or something like that.

Although, in an earlier thread right in the beginning of this forum, Neuron Basher says that the time stamps from the QUOTE function have been removed because they always gave the time of the author instead of some standardized time. Lessee...

[Edit]Yup, the time stamps have been completely removed. Never used the QUOTE function, had no idea... Well, then it would make sense to remove the , -> @ too.[/Edit]

[Edit #2]WHAT THE ****? After I edited, the time stamp suddenly appeared? And, apparently, it's using GMT + 2 hours, but winter time, so it's about 53 minutes behind me.

I knew the forum clock is a bit weird and there's not much that can be done about that, doesn't bother me, but the time stamp coming and going like that is probably not intentional.[/Edit #2]
