I don't think I can find the right words for this.

As a friend of mine would put it, this is yet more proof that certain people should be dragged into the street and shot multiple times. But he's a bit of an extremist.

While I'm going to go out on a limb and say this has absolutely nothing to actually do with Shadowrun, I will also go ahead and voice my opinion that it is things like this that make me mourn the incredible, mind-boggling idocy that is only becoming more prevalent as a we continue to remove/reduce selective pressures on ourselves as a species.

Anyone who intentionally infects themselves with a disease should quite simply not be allowed treatment for that disease.

This should be ported over to Bulldrek.

On a relevancy issue: you could do this with some variant of the now-included magician-sensitive diseases. Or HMHVV.

I suppose it would appeal to Hot Topic kids.

Nay, Darwin's proponents say survival of the fittest, not the most intelligent. Go read Bruce Sterling's "Our Neural Chernobyl."

Novel: Psychotrope. Underground female vampire rocker; sexual/feeding encounter with young fan; infection prevented by prototype <antibody? immunization therepy?>; vampire was in on it, kid was not; father set it up. Yamatetsu(?).

IMHO that's the same thing in this case, this asshat's inability to grasp basic self protection leads him to be eliminated, unfit to continue existance via mental flaw.

i find it most nuts that he takes the time to ask what kind of milk was used and then goes on to say he was to become HIV positive. talk about a walking contradiction. i feel the person looked at HIV as a social magnet or something, kinda like when your broken your arm and everyone goes sad eyed and asks how its going and starts being all helpfull. no wonder there is a mental problem called munchhausen (with or without proxy), those people at ettention seekers that makes sure that they are allways on top of fashion and style. personaly i think they dont have a life as they dont have any opinions of their own...

Darwin's theory was natural selection. Traits that help pass on genes will be selected for and those that don't will be selected out, due to both picky mates and shorter lifespans. Idiocy would be one of those traits that are selected out.

"Survival of the fittest" is the erm used by Social Darwinists. It basicly means that poor people deserve to be poor because they're inferior. Megacorps should like that philosophy.

This is idiocy. This man is purposely trying to become a drain on our society. Treating HIV is EXPENSIVE. I am sure he has insurance that will cover most of it. Of course over time they will have to raise their rates to everyone as a whole to make up for it.

The absolute worst part is, this moron thinks the disease is no big deal. Therefore he probably wont think twice about infecting someone else. I feel for the poor girl he infects cause he thinks it's cool. It's a death sentence is what it is. A slow, agonizing death sentence.

Which is exactly what should be given to anyone who purposely transmits the disease to someone else.

On a Shadowrun note: I could totally see hordes of teenage boys and girls trying to get infected with vampirism.

Some poor guy, unless he decides to switch sexual preferences after getting infected (or switches and then gets infected).

Hey, I can be nice when I want to be.

Besides, no-one would actually hunt them down and shoot them. Too much effort involved. I'll just wait for them to start showing up in the Darwin Awards.

for those who dont wanna read it because it is too long - here are the parts that creepily reminded me of the Universal Brotherhood

QUOTE
...he has a secret life. Carlos is chasing the bug. ... they're bringing me into the brotherhood...The men who want the virus are called "bug chasers," and the men who freely give the virus to them are called "gift givers." ...The virus isn't horrible and fearsome, it's beautiful and sexy -- and delivered in the way that is most likely to result in infection. In this world, the men with HIV are the most desired, and the bug chasers will do anything to get the virus -- to "get knocked up," to be "bred" or "initiated into the brotherhood."...The more we are, the stronger we are...And about once a month, he does outreach volunteering in which he goes to clubs to hand out condoms and educate men about safe sex...He adds that bug chasers can be found in any major city...

The only problem is that idiocy breeds faster than it removes it self, so it at the very least self sustaining, but more likely growing.

Unfortunatly in our "ooo we must take care of everyone" liberal-socialist, lazy, do nothing... anyway, sorry, in our world we tend to take care of idiots, which allows them to breed and pass there defunked genes on to some other poor bastard who is an even bigger moron!!!
