Arson suspected in deadly nightclub fire

Four people are dead following a three-alarm fire that broke out at an Auburn night club. The SFD fire marshall has declared the fire a result of arson, but no suspects have been named yet.

Drive by shooting in Bellevue

An 28-year-old human male was shot late last night as he left a bar in Bellevue. The man had recently been released on bail after being charged in a chemical drug trafficking sting.

Auto chop-shop raided

Officers from the Lone Star auto-theft task force raided a Tacoma body shop this afternoon. Four arrests were made and over 40,000 :nuyen: in auto-parts from veichles reported stolen were recovered.

No suspects in Auburn homicide

Frazzled Seattle residents can now vent their frustrations with modern life by taking sledgehammers to old cars, computers, television sets and mobile phones while listening to heavy metal rock.

For this fee, punters gain access to a scrap yard in Auburn, where they can smash technology to their heart's content, relieving pent-up stresses over traffic jams, work or computer glitches.

"When the participants arrive, they feel afraid and uncertain but after they have smashed everything you can see them free of worry and more relaxed," said Jorge Arribas, co-founder of StopStress, the group whose idea it is.

"Some people even bring photos of their bosses and put them on top of the cars before they start hitting them with their hammers," he said.

Participants in the "damage therapy" sessions are supplied with sledgehammers, helmets, overalls and goggles and then launch into an enthusiastic and destructive workout.

One satisfied customer, Mariano Garcia, smashed up an old car and then enthused: "It is brilliant, fantastic. After doing it I feel peaceful and relaxed, I have got rid of all my stress."

"I started smashing the boot, then the windows, then the bonnet. I have smashed all the parts of the car that always bother me. I have taken my revenge," he said.

Customers can spend up to two hours attacking the appliances with sledgehammers but organisers say nobody has succeeded in sustaining their ire for more than 30 minutes so far.

Pepper Spray Scatters Crowd at Toy Store

SEATTLE - Police were reviewing video camera footage to find out who discharged pepper spray inside an elevator at The Toy Factory's flagship store, sending at least three people to the hospital, authorities said.

Saturday afternoon's incident also left others with irritated eyes at the toy chain's Times Square store during the busy shopping weekend.

"I immediately could not breathe," Teresa Cassello told NewsNet. "I said 'I have to get out of here 'cause I'm choking,' but there were so many people behind me that I couldn't get out."

It was unclear how many shoppers were affected. Firefighter Kevin Nolan said five people were taken to hospital and 17 others were treated at the scene or refused medical attention. Lone Star said three people were taken to hospital and nine refused medical attention.

Two people were released from the hospital within hours while one remained for further treatment, hospital officials said.

Susan McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for The Toy Factory, said the incident was under investigation but declined to elaborate. "We are cooperating fully with the police," she said.

The 10,000-square-metre store, which opened in 2061, features an 60-foot indoor Ferris wheel.
