Whenever I make a new character, I seem to be getting a language for free. The first language skill I take costs no language skill points, but the second does. Am I missing a way to turn that off?

It should work that way for BeCKS, but not for Point Buy.

I've had the same problem.

Guys, I could have sworn SR3 states you get one language free. Why would you turn that down?

Almost certain not. It states you get INT*1.5 in Language skill points, and I don't think everyone is multilingual or an English major, so I doubt there's a free language.

McMackie: Just wanted to let you know that I'm adding a bunch of stuff to the DATs over the next day or two, when I'm done I'll email you a copy of them.

Namely I'm adding things to the list of stuff you can stick into a cyberlimb and I added one thing to the list of gear so far, I'm still looking to see if its missing anything else.

@#$!%!%@ WinZip !#@$#@!$#@
Okay, it saved the files in the wrong locations in the zip file... I've uploaded the correct one (I think!)... Let me know if it is wrong.
TinkerGnome ... there are some changes in the Gear.DAT & Vehicles.DAT for R3 and ratings for verious items... check before you submit changes but I appreciate any help I can give....
Thanks :)

Bug I just found in a rather annoying way.

If you try to save a character to a write-protected floppy (I didn't know the thing was) you get "Run-time error 70: Permission denied" and the program closes without saving.

Edit: I just remembered this after seeing Hunter's post. You're supposed to buy enhancements for each limb separately, but NSRCG adds the enhancements for different limbs together.

Thus Cyberarm with Str+3 and Cyberarm with Str+3 adds up to Str+6.
Edit: working on it on the new computer. Guess I have a newer version here, cause there's Str Enhance in pairs now... But There's an error on the Attributes screen, I think. Str 5 with Muscle Aug 4, Cyberlimb Str+3, and Suprathyroid is giving me Str 10(7).

Save to floppy disk: fixed...
Bug that adds bioware to cyberware: fixed.
If you have something odd like two cyberlimbs at different strengths, my program does not handle it... I was hoping that the Valkarie Module somebody else was developing would become the default M&M editor as mine is a rather simple approach (no real databases)... I would then simply import....
Okay, if you wish to use the program to handle items within other cyber items (like an arm): there is a section with associated discounts in THAT section. (CYBERLIMB MODS).. Since I cannot know when a piece is installed in another, as there is NO mechanism for that. On the other hand, there is a section already to handle this type of requirement. (see above)

Thanks! :)

Did you fix the new errata for M&M yet? I'll wait until you do so until I go get a new version.

IF you're asking about the BioIndex and Magic costs, then the answer is yes. For cost and other changes, I depend on helpful, friendly, considerate people like you to help me catch and implement all of the changes necessary :)

I think you mean Grey ;) My changes were all last release (and I don't see any pressing ones I need to make for the next release yet, so I'm outta the game for a little while) ;)

Actually, I do want to expand a few lists (like the splat grenade list) and the like, but I'll hold off on that for a few days ;)

Hola,

Don't know if this had been mentioned yet, since I don't like using "search" buttons...

O great and wise one, that which knoweth all, is there any chance of implimenting a "Caseless" option in the firearms section?

I was thinking another button, like one underneath "Smartlink 1 - 2"

I know this would also necessitate changes to the ammo tables (+1 availability, increased cost) and modifications to the actual weapon .dat files (Ie: an appendix entry saying if this weapon has X =caseless, then Y = (rounds + modifier) clip.

I realise that it'd be a bit fiddly, but I prefer caseless over normal, simply for the fact that it gives you a few extra rounds with less of a ballistics profile for the 'Star to hunt you down with... :rotfl:

Anyhow - it's a wish-list thing.

l>

PS - Thanks for making such a bloody useful program.

OK, got the new .exe and stuff. But, books.dat is older than the one I already have. No big deal, but I'm figuring that's not the plan.

The version I just downloaded still takes 2 points of magic for 1.4 points of Bioware (a Supra-thyroid).

Cause thats cannon Bearclaw. Magic is never expressed in decimal. If you take 1.01 bio or cyber your gonna loose 2 points off your magic rating.

Wrong. By the errata, if you take 1.4 work of Bioware, you only count it as 0.7 taking away from Magic. But if it was 2.1 then yeah, it would be 1.05 and you'd loose two points of magic.

If you change book selections, the file date will be updated to when you last updated... It's the contents that are important in the Books.DAT file. But you're correct, the books.DAT file did not change BUT
Gear.DAT & Vehicles.DAT did! :)
