I'll look into it. Should be simple enough to strip the HTML code. |

Added to the Cyber.DAT file.... Anyone could have done this themselves. Or added their own custom cyber item. |

Things like this are typically permission problems. Usually you don't have administrative priviledges and so cannot add programs. Sometimes there are programs that prevent installation of OCXs (system protection,Norton, etc). Since very few people complain about it and I've never had a problem installing on any machine, I cannot replicate and solve. sorry :( |

Okay, I think I've got everyone BUT... you'll have to test yourself. There is a new version of the program that includes the high/low character generation rules from Mr. Johnson's Little Black Book.
Since changes so many things in my program, I'm only releasing thru this link. After enough time and bugs have been collected, I'll post to my regular webpage. Let me know what you think. I see that many people are working SR4 character generators (Good Luck!). I'm still waiting on my copy of SR4 to show up so I can figure out where and how to contribute. 8) |

Sorry, don't have a list. In effect, I've tried to catch all of the posted bugs. So if you see it listed, I tried to fix it (unless otherwise noted). The major improvement is the addition of high/low level character generation from MJLBB (as noted above). |

Hello McMackie,
first I wanted to say many thanks for your continuing work on the Generator Program. (Just returned to SR after a long absence and was very glad to find your program to crank out all kinds of NPCs and PCs.) I've installed the new version from the link in your post and seem to have stumbled over an error: Your old program (3.68 from your webpage) had the option to put in a number for "Max. Availability number for new characters" under the head "options" - "program settings". With the new program I get "Do not display Items with Avail > 6" at the same place, but didn't find an option to define the availability number itself. In fact, the program will not allow a starting character made with the Priority System (Default) to buy equip with a higher Availability than 6 and advises to check the options button if I try to add something. Did I miss something obvious? Thanks, Folkert |

Back again with a few things:
1. The generation method "Sum to 10" has no options for High or Low Level campaigns. (Don't know whether this was intentional.) 2. If generating a PC under the High Level Campaign option, attributes and skill are still capped at 6. 3. Somehow I don't seem to be able to build a spell-casting PC with the new 3.69 version as the "Spells" tab under the header "Magic" is always greyed out. Folkert |

Sum-to-10 is a non-canon option, and not really conducive to high/low campaign modification. |

We worked one out on paper. You just keep the point values the same, and adjust the numbers to reflect those in the high-level priority system.

But really, it's a lot of unnecessary work for a limited market, when MJLLB rules or BeCKS are quite usable for those that want a variant level campaign.

1. Fortune answered this one... There are no official rules for Sum2Ten. I've only included them for backwards compatibility. 2/3. Again, you're correct. Unfortunately, this is a very complex change to the program. Between real life issues and not being able to devote extended periods of time to this... the testing suffered. Hence, my posting it here rather than on my main web page. :( On the other hand, with this change: You now have the ability to customize more.. To understand, open the NSRCG.DAT file. 8) Edit: Forgot to mention: New version is posted at prior link. Thanks for all the help and expecially the debugging feedback! |

I already suspected this might be reason but I wanted to mention it nevertheless, just in case.
Ack! Just to make sure I did not give the wrong impression: I certainly did not want to complain, just to point the erros out as testing feedback. Folkert |

Just downloaded and installed 3.69 (16.10.).
The caps on attributes and skills work fine now with the High Level Campaign Option, but the problem of the greyed-out "Spells" tab seems to persist. (At least for me.) :( |

First off, let me just say fantastic work, it's made life so much easier for me and the rest of my gaming group.
I was just wondering if i could add a few suggestions, im not a programmer so i can't play with the source code myself but I had the following ideas to help improve upon the program: 1. Making knowsofts/skillsofts show up in your skills section instead of, or as well as, gear, Adding a tag like "[K]" for knowledge "[A]" activesoft etc.. to distinguish them from true skills 2. The ability to customise a weapon you already have - ie adding gas vent 2, scope etc to a weapon you already own, or customising its damage/weight, rather than having to add a whole new custom weapon, then remove the old weapon. (applying this to vehicles would be great too if possible). 3. The ability to "unspend" karma. I saved my character while i was playing around with what skills i would buy, but when i reloaded later and decided to change i found that though i could remove/alter the skills by turning the rules off, i could not get a karma refund so had to go back to a much earlier save. 4. When you buy a stackable item you already have, it does not add to a current stack, i.e. if i have 3 clips of 15ammo, and buy another clip, i end up with a stack of 3 and a single. The "update count" button allows you to decrease the amount you have of a stack of items, but will not let you add/buy more. 5. Being able to make a "custom" print out page with just the sections you want on it would be great, but not sure how hard this is to setup. For me being able to put skills/gear/weaps/contacts onto one page, without the bio, banking info etc of the main page would be great, whereas others might like a page with spells/contacts/vehicles/weaps etc. 6. An option to print out the weapons page without ammo. Once again, i thank you for this amazing program that has taken a lot of tedious work out of keeping characters updated :) |

I have 3.69 and now when I load up a character, it makes a bunch of noises and the attributes are set to 0. Nothing I do in it fixes the problem.
