Born in Chicago's Southside, Loren was one of those odd children who never cried. His parents started calling him pragmatic by the time he was five. He always seemed to just know that the universe would make sure that everything was where it needed to be, and on his thirteenth birthday it did. Loren was a human-born elf. Whereas other adolescents got awkwardly attacked by hormones that changed their appearance and made them clumsy until they got used to their own bodies, he only got more and more graceful.

Graduating valedictorian of his high school, Loren took a year long sojourn to Europe. He learned about history and architecture, was intrigued by the intricacy of language and began to study. Six years later, he graduated from the University of Milan. He had learned eight languages. Then Loren felt the pressing need to go home.

Arriving in Chicago, he found out that his father had been killed in the line of duty. Wanting to live up to his father's memory, Loren joined the UCAS military. They wanted to put him into the Intelligence arm, but he requested a field position. Twenty months of training later, Loren was a qualified Combat Engineer. Because of his voracious appetite for knowledge, he had also mastered the skills of many of his teammates as well. He served out his six years and was discharged with honor.

Now it was time for a career and Chicago had always been home to him. Applying to Ares, he was placed in a growing division of Knight Errant which did field work and dealt with the civilian population at times.

Time passed, mistakes were made.

When the call came out for a team to clean up a hive that was forming in Chicago, Loren was one of the first to apply. He hadn't been home in awhile and his mother had gone to live in New York, but there was still something that rang true about the situation. And fate had been kind until then...

------------------------
Loren is a combat engineer. I was also planning to have him be quartermaster for this little expedition, if I get picked. That being said, I've got 200k left to buy gear that other people need. I'm also planning on bringing about 10k in hard currency in case we have to barter with the natives.

I've got a big truck and a good drive skill, but no VCR so nothing fancy...I do have the hardware necessary to hijack a drone network though...in case the rigger needs it.

Yes I am throwing down for the rigger. I am thinking someone like The Transporter, with a couple of drones. Since I can't use R3 it makes it complicated.

Self-question: Do I have time for another game? Yes.

Self-question: Do I have the imagination for another character? Possibly.

Self-question: Can I pass up 256BP? Frag no!

I'll think on something and get back to you. First comes Ecc's game, though. (Almost done now!)

I'm in another forum game in Bug City, but not this drastically changed or weird. It could be fun...

I'll think on something.

Let me get this straight: Those extra magic things at the beginning are for anybody, right? If so, this could be very, very fun.

FYI to everyone. I'm totally re-doing my character concept. Well, not completely. Basicly, I'm doing a Raven Shaman/Physical Adept who has the Spapechange spell. I realized I was paying 25 build points (plus the cost of a second set of attributes) just so I could change into a bird, when there was a perfectly good spell for that. Duh!

Pfft!

My guy can kick a little butt, but he is by no means a hypertroll. I'm a Scout more than anything.

Heh, she might just be the Face-type of the group, depending.

I think an Elf is in order... (Gee, who'd've guessed? A hot Elf that can get through just about any physical security system ever devised? No way!)

Mine is all sent in and ready to go. Ended up with a Ex-SWAT sniper who is also an communications expert. He might be a bit out gunned compared to what I've heard everyone else making, but he's a solid asset. I'll post it here or in an OOC thread if we are supposed to later, and I will have a history up tomorrow after classes.

Sphynx: What do you feel about turning Killing Hands off completely? (id est Dealing straight M Stun instead of (level) Physical?)

That would definately help me focus Sylvia a bit more...
