Additional Dosage: If a character is exposed to an additionl doese before the speed period has elapsed, stage up the Damage Level ofthe drug by one. Further doses beyond that will not raise the Damage Level but will raise the drug's power by 1 per additional dose.

If a character is exposed to additional doses after the Speed period has elapsed. The character must make another Body Resistance Test. As long as the character is continuously exposed, he must resist eery time the Speed period goes by. However, a cahracter will never suffer more total damage from doeses higher than the drug's base Damage Level +1. Once the character has suffered this maximum damage.

-------------
I don't understand. It says stage up the damage level and then next paragraph says you can't So you can't break from say..Pepper Punch 12L. Your damage code when applying two doses is 12L+1? You can't go to 12M?

No, both paragraphs say you can stage up the damage level, but only by one.

So with Pepper Punch:

If you take one dose it's 12L

If you take two doses it's 12M (12L, add one damage level, is 12M)

Any futher doses just increase the power, so three doses is 13M, four is 14M, etc.

I think the other part is saying that, even if you're lost in a giant cloud of Neurostun X, you'll never take more than Deadly stun from it. That is, Serious, plus one damage level.

Eh, yeah.

I agree with Zeel De Mort that the entire second paragraph is talking about additional exposure or continual exposure after the first Speed period has elapsed. This paragraph is needed in the rules to prevent characters who are knocked out by stun gas (say, in an alley) from dying before the gas blows away. We want, in the game, for there to be a chemical way to knock out a character without killing them, like in the movies. In real life, it's much more difficult to achieve that.

The knockout gas the Russian troops used, in the theatre hostage crisis of 2002, killed 115 hostages. Real life knockout gas is only 'safe' if you can get prompt medical attention to each exposed person, with the right chemicals and treatment for each unconscious person you have a good chance of keeping them alive.

The risk of death or permanent brain damage from the side effects of the Anesthesia (the 'knockout gas') given during Surgery is one of the highest risks of "safe" elective medical treatments, and that is in a procedure where high-quality medical care is continuously available AND one person is continuously assigned to monitor just the Anesthesia AND the it's already in a high-quality facility.

Note that the rules do allow for horrible things to happen via the overdose rules, but they're nice and flexible. :)
