OK the team is in the recruiting page, for those who didn't see it first this is a CLOSED game... and i will nott take any more submissions.

Ok, like i promised you guys are getting a free house!

it's a 2 story house with a basement in everett. the place is nice... and youjr team has always owned it no matter what generation of the team it is. first floor is a kitchen with dining area, living room and a bathroom. upstairs is a locker room with two full seperate bathrooms, and a bedroom with a bunch of airmattresses.

finally is your basement, with a nice conference table, comfy chairs, and a big ole cieling projector that projects onto the far wall. There are two secured phone lines in as well as matrix access.

security is good, and the neighborhood is ok, and delivery food is great...

it's gated and fenced in, with locks at the gate, the door, and motion detectors and surveillance cams inside. This is merely your safehouse, not somewhere your chars should live and have personal belongings. But you can lay low and hide in here when you have to... and a decent rendezvous place... as long as you all know not to be tailed. The team you are in is honor bound, and there are full files for every person in it past and present. so you can be sure to find the accountable person if anything is ever done to it.

address currently is 2083 Pelican Way. in a rather interracial neighborhood with low police activity, and highly residential. The house is technically owned by Walen Smithers, Jr. and is paid off already. the bills and such are paid by the team fund which i assume you guys can figure out on your own.

Report what you're chars would reveal to each other, and if you want to come up with relationships that's all gravy as well. Let's get the party started... after we work out our team dynamics i'll start the IC.

Congrats again to all those that made it.. and let's get this party started!

The Nerd:

Description:

Someone who can take a broken computer or electronic part, and have it fixed for a reasonable price. Since the price tag is never too high, and the service is good, not charging a nuyen when something can't be repaired, the Nerd is held in high esteem by many in the sprawl, at least in as high esteem as you can have for someone else under such circumstances.

The Nerd's known contacts include a street doc, who is fairly good at providing biotech implants. He's not the doc's only client, of course. Since he's got quite a few implants, no eyebrows are raised nor is it any surprise that he visits the doc regularly.

He also knows a fencer that has disposed of ill-gotten goods for him. They are not close, but the Nerd has taken care that all he sells through the fencer is in good condition or, if it is not, that the price asked is reasonable for the condition of the equipment.

His other known contact is a fixer. A half-decent fixer, as fixers go, that has the odd job for the Nerd once in a while. So far as previous jobs go, the Nerd has performed up to specs, delivering sometimes a little extra, so his street rep is also good job-wise. Some consider the Nerd a fool for not getting the max out of every deal or run, but all agree that the Nerd is a dependable runner that will do what he can to deliver the goods, once the contract is signed.

Physically, the Nerd can be described as unremarkable. He has a quality about him that makes people forget what he looks like, and he's mid-sized for a human. He is not handsome, but he does have a pleasant face. Yet he's got that je-ne-sais-quoi that makes people want to do his bidding, without even knowing that is what they are doing.

There are a few items the Nerd does have permits for. First, his muscle implants and synaptic accelerators. He isa subject part of a study group given “free” bio-goods by Universal Omnitech, as long as they submit reports of problems to the installer (it is well known biotech companies employ “volunteer” metahuman test subjects before releasing their products to the general public). In fact, all of the Nerd's bio-goods were installed in Universal Omnitech clinics.

Then, there is also a permit for a Fichetti Security 500a. The reason given for the permit is the Nerd's full-time employment, in a difficult part of town. Of course, having a legal firearm is indeed an asset, but the fact that the Fichetti is a rather light weapon means that, at least for shadow work, other weapons will have to be used.

Reputation:

“He's a fool, I tell you, he could have charged me triple what he charged, and I would have still paid for it.”

The troll was chugging down a quart of beer and laughed at the Nerd and his pricing policies. If he had the Nerd's skills, he would be rich, instead of just making ends meet, as the Nerd did.

“Yeah, but the only thing that made me pay him in nuyen instead of flechettes last time he fixed a computer for me, was that I could actually afford the price he asked for when he was done with it,” said the dwarf at the other side of the table.

An ork seated at the next table pitched in: “I have bought some of the stuff he's gained running, and I always got a good value for my nuyens. And if he keeps his prices like that, he's got my business. And I know many others think the same way I do.”

Others in the bar assented with their heads. The Nerd was well-known to most of them. He had repaired their vids, their sound systems, their computers, even other, less reputable devices, for a fair price. Of course they would kill him if there was a need to, but as long as there wasn't, and the Nerd kept dealing with them fairly, he would get a free beer at any bar, and a tip if he ever needed it. The Nerd was a good chummer.

The troll finished his beer, and set the pitcher down in the table. “He's a fool, I tell you, a total fool... but he's my kind of fool, any day of the week.”

They all laughed.

Specifics:

The team knows that the Nerd has a 40-hour a week day job in some sort of electronics shop in Columbia. The Nerd has kept the details private, but so far that has not interfered with his performance, so they have all let him be. After all, who has no secrets that are better left alone?

Besides that, they also know he's got a mild nasal allergy to mold spores. It makes his nose water and, if the exposure is long, distracts him a bit. So far, it has been more of a nuisance than a real obstacle for his performance, so the whole team bears with it when it appears.

His team mates have found the Nerd to be quick on his feet, intelligent, and quite agile and stealthy when there is need; good with a pistol or a submachinegun, and able to pull through when he's had to negotiate. His knowledge of the corporate world has also been an asset to the team on occassion, paired to his speaking three languages, English, Japanese and Spanish. His electronics and computer knowledge, both theoretical and practical, has also helped.

He's also got quite a few electronic toys he's used on occassion, some of them the best money can buy (at least the best that they have seen so far).

The one thing many in the group find amusing, though, is that this obviously Aztlan-born man finds such delight in doing those little folded paper figurines the Japanese call origami. What kind of skill is that? What is it good for? When asked, the Nerd just smiles and tells them it is his way of relaxing, and finding his focus in an unfocused world.

Yeah, he's weird. But he's been a good chummer so far.

Sigmund Dunlevy
Description:
Sigmund is a versitile fighting man, someone with the skills and the equipment to handle anything from a subtle assasination to a full-scale invasion of Russia by land, sea, air, astral and space. He is a former mercenary who has seen some really hairy missions in his time.
Though his 'ware isn't quite bleeding edge, it still makes him the physical equal of a troll, as well as faster and more accurate than anyone has a right to be. That combined with his fearsome arsenal of heavily customized weaponry make him a force to be reckoned with in any fight.
He is an excellent tactitian and planner, having acquired hard-won skills in a decade of leading a squad of elite commandoes...but his real strength lies elsewhere.
Sigmund Dunlevy is a member of the sprawling Dunlevy clan, a family originating in the Scottish highlands that comprises a good-sized mercenary company of regiment size. What this amounts to is that he is a member of a tight-knit, loving standing army...quite an asset when the group's gotten into trouble that's a good deal more unsubtle then usual, or when they need some milspec gear.

Reputation:
Sigmund has a strange but valuable reputation, that of the sanest, most stable man running Seattle's shadows. He's a strange man, one of the few running Seattle's shadows who actually enjoys his job, and has gained a good reputation on the streets as a very well-adjusted person for somebody as chock-full of cyberware as he is, and as a versatile, inventive, team-oriented, and generally quite employable person.

the Ballerina, and what you need to know:

quiet little asian girl with a fondness for expensive but practical clothes and withering sarcasm. Her last jacket cost more than your gun, she will remind you of this if you try and paw at her.....after she breaks your arm.

Despite a cold streak a mile wide, and a worrying lack of people skills, she is a team player and an utter professional. Certainly from what you've seen she has the skills to do the jobs you've worked on together.

You've worked out shes from a corp background, from what little she says about her past, and you would guess that accounts for all the 'ware plugged into her. The way her ruthenium coated skin lets her sneak up on people is useful, if a little creepy when she suddenly fades into sight half naked without telling you.

She seems to have contacts in the barrens, and some kind of link to the yakuza, but she's cagey enough not to go into specifics either

If you ant find her in the house, she's in the kitchen, always in the kitchen eating more than a herd of hungry buffalo.

The following is what the group would know, as it'll take awhile or something drastic to cause him to reveal more.

Sabosect:

Sabosect is not difficult by many to describe. He is charismatic, trustworthy, and neutral in the worlds of corp and gang politics. In fact, it has been said he can be hired by a corporation he just hit to pull a run against the corp that hired him last time. So far, he has kept out of trouble. However, Sabosect generally keeps quiet about his resources, being known for conservation, until he trusts someone.

Sabosect's past is simple. His father was corp and his mother a runner, and his father left to go back to the corp. He was raised on the street, doing odd jobs here and there before getting into the running biz. A run nearly gone south resulted in him awakening to his shamanic powers, resulting in him taking up the magic path. Sadly, his teacher died on a bad run and, though he was at first upset about losing such a dear friend, Sabosect accepted this and moved on. The result changed him, as he moved out on his own and started to show dedication towards the life of a runner. In the four years since he has built his rep.

Sabosect only has two known contacts, a fixer and a weapon's specialist, and his only known house is in the Redmond Barrens. Beyond that, his distrust of others, a good trait for the shadows, keeps him quiet.

Okay that was my turn to be put to shame so a somewhat better attempt this time

The short Version:

Rep: Despite the self loathing in Cinder’s soul, others find him quite likable. Partly because of his low opinion of himself he often puts others in the run ahead of himself. Many more self oriented runners found this trait confusing, but overall it has been a major contributing factor to how many of the people he has run with have become long term contacts. If it wasn’t for the self hate, he would probably make a very good face.

In somewhat more detail.

there are three groups of people who don't really like Cinder...
1: Cinder's Exes (Caroline notwithstanding)
2: Fathers of the members of group 1
3: Cinder.

Apart from that most people find him reasonably likable and a loyal friend. someone asking about him in the right kind of bar would probably hear something like this

"That Ork rat bastard deserves to be shot!"
"What the hell are you on about, old man?"
"That trumped up piece if half processed drek slept with my Lisa."
"Your mistress?"
"My daughter, street scum."
"Your point?"
"Well after he broke her heart and ditched her in this very bar..."
"Wait, you mean Lisa, bout 20 these days, tall leggy with ginger hair, green eyes and freckles?"
"The description is accurate, you know her?"
"Yeah, I was here when she dumped Cinder."
"Liar! My daughter was heartbroken after..."
"Maybe! But she broke it off. Even told the poor bastard that she felt she wasn't good enough for him. He spent ten minutes trying to convince her that if anyuthing she was too good for him..."
"Well he and I agree on that at any rate."
"yeah well your kid seriously upset my friend. I suggest you stop bad mouthing him around here, So ka?"

Rip
Description
Rip looks, acts and dresses like he's spent most of his life on the street. He's mentioned that he came from the Barrens, but is a bit vague about what he did before he hooked up with the others. He's a young Ork with a muscular build, and looks like he has some Asian and Hispanic ancestors.

He's a rigger who likes to get his hands dirty, always tinkering with his heavily modified Bulldog van. The van looks like every other delivery van on the road, but it doesn't move like one, with a heavily modifed engine that can move like a much smaller, lighter vehicle. Rip has used two drones with the others in the past, a Condor Mini-Blimp, and a Strato-9 Surveillance drone. The Strato-nine is armored, making it look a bit bulkier than the typical Lone Star model, and sounds slightly different. When asked about it, Rip mentioned doing some work on the engine.

Rip seems comfortable working without his tech toys, and has shown considerable proficiency in hand to hand combat. He doesn't move as fast as your average wired sammy, but when he hits someting it typically goes down. He seems a bit more solid than he should be, possibly due to some sort of bodyware.

For ranged combat he seems to prefer shotguns, and has shown up on runs with more than one. He's proficient with them, but is a bit more accurate when firing his drone's weapons.

He seems most comfortable in social situations that take place on the street. When required to particpate in more cultured settings, he is a bit more reserved and quiet, and tends to play the part of a bodyguard or driver as his speech and grammer is heavily street influenced.

He has not mentioned any specific contacts at all, but it seems likely he knows someone familiar with the Mafia, and knows a bit of what goes on in the Barrens.

Reputation
Rip is a solid dependable runner. He has skills in a variety of vehicles, unarmed combat, weaponry, technology and is an athletic guy. He never talks
about past jobs, and can keep his mouth shut. He has been known to go out of his way to get back at someone who crosses him, but never on a run, and won't do anythign to jeapordize a job.

Ok, After you all did this, i'm going to give out karma points, pretend like it's what you got for running with the team so far, so that you'd improve to help out your role. Here's the list for karma dispersion:

BG Rep
The Nerd - 25 + 8 = 33
Sigmund - 20 + 4 = 24
Frag - 30 + 8 = 38
Ballerina - 26 + 10 = 36
Raven - 27 + 6 = 33
Rip - 20 + 6 = 26
Sabosect - 26 + 5 = 31
Cinder - 28 + 4 = 32

that's that.... some of you may be getting e-mails from me asking you to tweak stuff.

p.s. After tweaking you may want to talk about your skills so that you guys know what each other does so you function as a team and because you may split up at times. Also, work out a communications system and a leader if you think you need one.

I know, I know- I figured that THAT at least was something too big to hide from us.

As for capabilities...
Sigmund is a street samurai-type with a focus on ranged combat. His main strength is in his trio of heavily customized weapons: a silenced heavy pistol undetectable by MADs, a monster HV assault rifle loaded with explosive ammunition, and a custom assault cannnon best described as ludicrous. A wily fighter and intelligent tactitian, his network of merc contacts is useful when the group needs something unsubtle done.

The Nerd's capabilities:

A face with other... more beligerant skills. Decent negotiator and knowledeable in etiquette, with an interesting array of corporate and criminal organizations knowledge, and speaker of three languages. To that, add theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics and computers, a decent aim with pistols and submachinguns, good stealth and decent athletic ability. His hand-to-hand prowess is not the best but hey, in the streets even the thinkers have to learn to use their nuckles, no?

In the past runs with the team he has used shock gloves (no sense using bare nuckles), a light Fichetti (the 500s model, of course), a flechette heavy pistol with ultrasound imaging (and the sunglasses look sooo cool), and an HK SMG with smart imaging and APDS and explosive ammo (with other, even cooler, mirror sunglasses). He's also earned the nickname "Noid", a composite of "Nerd", and "Paranoid", as he has quite a few collection of bug detectors, encryptors, dataline scanners, jammers, etc. that he uses whenever the team gets together in unsafe locations. He does not know if it has helped any, but he will continue using them, just in case. After all, he says, just because he's paranoid doesn't mean someone is not trying to get to them.

Sneaking : all over body ruthemium helps here ;)

Close quarters/hand to hand: Big exotic chain weapon for close and nasty, pistol for quiet, shotgun for when things go horribly wrong.

Electronics: for opening pesky maglocks

I stand corrected!

I had not seen that, yes, it is avail 14/14, so the Nerd does NOT have APDS, merely EX explosive rounds. :)

Combats in Shadowrun are typically unusual enough that they require on-the-fly tactics, but in the event that we actually face modern metahumans with roughly equivilant technology and no vehicles on flat ground (yeah, right) how's this sound?
Sigmund provides suppressing/covering fire for the team with his rec-comped HV AR or assault cannon.
Sabosect with Physical Mask and Detect Enemies makes a decent scout, and can support team members in a fight with his combat spells.
The Ballerina can fade in and out of the fray with her ruthinium, hitting the 'soft' targets (read: mages, deckers) while evading the 'hard' ones (sammies, adepts).
Rip can function as either heavy support/transport with a single vehicle or a second squad/air support with drones.
The Nerd can be an electronic warfare/security specialist guy with his skills, bypassing security and interfering with enemy communications, as well as serving as a general fighting man.
Cinder I don't know enough about to discuss, but Rokur listed him as a utility sammy so I guess that's what he'll do.
Again, the only thing I know about Raven is that he's a sniper, as per Rokur's listing...he can serve the same function as the Ballerina without needing to get close.
And Frag...Frag can hit things with his hurtstick :D

Hurtmace, thanks. :P

Sorry, I'd been slightly busy with classes until now. Lemme think up something good.

Description:
2.69 meters of troll, a hulking 181.44 kilos, and covered in tattoos. Most are tribal-style, however there are a few key ones.

(In German) Fear: On his right fist.
(In German) Power: On his left fist.
(In German) Anger: On the back of his neck, right before the neck meets the torso.

He's pierced several times, seven times in the left ear, six times in the right, a nose ring similar to those used on bulls, an eyebrow ring in each eyebrow, a lip ring, and a tongue ring.

His eyes are red as red can be, and is hairless all over.

Backgroundish
Frag was once a ganger. He's recently moved up in the world after discovering he was an Adept.

During one turfwar, he managed to keep one guy's mace after knocking him out cold. He's had it ever since, and enjoys using it quite thoroughly.

He's good for soaking damage, and heals faster than your average guy. Much faster.

On top of the regular dermal deposits, he has even more, thanks to SURGE. You can tell his eyes are from the same thing. He's also Dual Natured.

He's ugly, but oh well. Who cares about ugliness when all you have to do is play with your mace and the peons cower? Not to mention how completely technologically inept he is. He also doesn't notice things too well. Might be because he was always told and did. He didn't have to look for things too hard, as most of the time they were right where he was told they would be.

If you want anything else, let me know.
