Well, I'm new to this forum. I've been playing SR for some time, but this is the first SR forum I register on, I am active on some other RPG forums though.
First of all I'd like to commend you guys on the amount of activity, and apparent lack of flame wars and spam on this forum, I suppose you have dedicated Mods. Second, regarding accronyms on these boards I stumbled into two acronyms that were new to me on this, my first night of posting. BBB i managed to figure out myself, quickly, the first time I saw it. Canon, i had some troubles with however. I know what it means know, but it's not really as self-explanatory as most well-used accronyms are. And with the CC out there's quite a lot of room for confusion. In other systems I've seen RAW (rules as written) been used in this context. If I happen to type RAW instead of canon in any discussion, I hope you'll understand what I'm trying to say. So, are there any other accronyms that you use here that I should know about, or any strange etiquette rules regarding what you say to each other? What are the community projects? What are the common attitude towards off-topic comments? Hopefully I'll start posting here regulary, but I wouldn't count on it. :rotate: |

Canon is in the dictionary. You see the word used a lot in genre fandom (Star Trek, etc.) to refer to official material. Because Shadowrun is as much "fluff" as it is "crunch" the 'R' in "RAW" is too restrictive. And Stumps forgot to mention sex with ally spirits. |

I think I would've figured out most of the accronyms from that thread myself, eventually. Don't put the squirrel away just yet, we haven't dikoted it yet. I'll refrain from making social threads in the future. |
