Just to be a bastard, nothing says you can't get an extended-range variant of Enhance Aim. I mean, reall... so it has more drain. You're gonna quicken/sustain-focus it anyway, yeah?

Hmm... now that i think about it, in theory there's no reason the Magic Rating 1 (for the purposes of spellcasting) physmage couldn't learn and cast a Force 4 Enhance Aim... it just means taking physical drain instead of stun. Not what you want for day to day spell use, but not such a major issue for setting it up in a sustaining focus I suppose.
Comparing it to the extended versions of other detection spells, it's -1 drain target and +1 drain level (or rather, you don't get the -1 drain level modifier for limited range); ordinary Enhance Aim is (F/2)S, so you'd get a final drain code for Enhance Aim (Extended) of -1D. You should easily be able to stage that down to at least Medium with a decent Willpower. And "whatever does not kill me makes me stronger" - literally in this case ;) |

Take the 'personal' varient and knock the Drain code down a bit. A lot of people forget about taking detection and manipulation spells with the 'personal' limitation.

Never said otherwise. But like Fortune said, most people don't bother. Sadly, they don't bother with geasa or fetishes, either, unless it's to offset magic loss. Pity. |
