I'm a second year computer science student. I've never actually gotten to play a character (well this one time someone else tried to GM for like a half hour and I played a decker) but if I got the chance I'd love to play a Rigger

I'm the Regulatory Affairs Manager for an in vitro diagnostic medical device manufacturer located in San Diego. Prior to this, I worked as an officer/agent/auditor for the US Food and Drug Administration, which is the primary regulatory agency for medical device manufacturers. Prior to this, I spent about a year as a salesman for a medical device manufacturer and discovered that being a salesman sucks. And prior to that I was a student in bioengineering with a minor in creative writing at UC San Diego.

I have three major characters (that is, I have three characters I've played a lot) and several minor ones which were used for one shot games or campaigns that didn't go anywhere. The major characters are: Doc - a former Lonestar forensics expert/medical examiner turned shadowrunner; Wild Horse - a Lakota Sioux indian rigger with a serious drinking problem; and Puck - a dwarf who retired from the UCAS Army (Airborne Rangers) after 30 years and turned Shadowrunner because he has nothing better to do.

I'm a wildlife biologist in the Federal service. Hobbies: computers, video games, hunting, trapping, dealing guns (for fun and profit!), heavy metal, shooting, collecting antlers (!)/horns (!)/skulls and heavy sarcasm.

I usually play a B&E/tech/sniper/support type character because the rest of my group is like: "Dude imma be a troll so I can like break stuff....and stuff."

but I can't really talk because i'm very ignorant of magic and decking rules.

I haven't GM'd much but that will change very soon.

I'm a 9th grader in the US. I'm a game-a-holic, which is what led me here. My main character (named Phyrexus Eliff) is based of a future version of myself, and is an adept/decker. My other two characters are based off my main's brother (Tyrrannus Eliff) and sister (Miranda Eliff), the brother being an ex-military super-soldier, and the sister is a mage.

I only got into Shadowrun over the Summer, but I'm soon to GM a game with a group of my friends. I may only be 14, but I know what I'm doing.

College Student at ITT geting my CNS degree (computer network specialist). I DM all the time because no one else likes to. And because I don't need any prep time, we just sit down and I write out place and people as we go. Normaly making note of important people to save for later as either contacts, stalkers, or just people to bump into at bars for that really akward situation.

Comercial Locksmith. Its fun to see how much people think they know about security.

I've played every character class at least twice and tend to rotate through specialties. Started mixing and matching and trying to find all possible combos. Speed muscle, bod muscle, magic muscle, close combat muscle, etc. Currently playing a combat decker.

I forgot to add what I tend to play...

God.

I GM, and I only GM. I haven't played in a game in the last 7 years, and only 2 games in the last 12 or so.

I'm a video game programmer. Currently working on the sequel to "The Suffering". Can't remember if the final title is still secret or not though. :)

I have played all sorts of charachters in various formats, and gm'd a lot of irc games a few years ago, but never a long running campaign *sniff*.

I´m a (unemployed) mechanical engineer.
My current character is a moderately cybered cowardly, racist (hates trolls) generalist (Pistols, Bombs & Electronics) SOB with a serious drinking problem. One of the weakest (in terms of being good at one specific thing or combat potential) characters I´ve ever played. Also one of the funniest to play.
Edit: And the only one to actually get more than 30 karma.

Scene: We have just (messily) killed a hostage (he got to hear too much) when our troll enters the building.
Me (Streetname: Butterfly) walks over to the closet. Gets mop and bucket. Hands both to troll. Points towards messily dead body. Walks away. :D
Troll gets agravated and grabs my shoulder. Short staring match. Butterfly grabs bucket and mop. Heads towards body (no words involved at all).

Luckily the Troll was not present when Butterfly got really really drunk and started singing campfire songs about roasting and eating trolls in Africa, before passing out.

Storage Engineer for a major law firm in the Chicago Loop. I spend my days making sure data replication takes place between national and international offices, get tapes rotated to off-site storage, and make sure there are enough terabytes available on the SAN to keep the legals happy. It's dull, but I can take dull for the six figure salary...

I generally play techy types in my games. Riggers mostly. I have one guy who I modeled after the goofy tech guy who played opposite Robin Williams in Bicentennial Man...

 Holy lots of engineers, Batman!

I'm currently working with special needs children. No degrees/diplomas as yet though I do plan on getting my ECE within the next few years. I'm an ex-CSR (sounds much more badass than a former Customer Service rep; let me know if you need help with your cell phones ;) ) and a cook by trade. Characters I play tend to have higher than average charismas, social skillsets, and a good familiarity with combat. Enter the combat mage.... :grinbig:

I usually work in a warehouse as a shipping/recieveing clerk. My father was a Master Electronics Technician for Grumman Aerospace (NOT Northrop-Grumman), so I guess I get the majority of my 113 IQ points from him. Sadly, my math skills suck.

I find that shadowrun attracts the same variety as other games. If your group is at a college, you get college types. If your game is the only RPG on your ship in the middle of the Pacific somewhere, you get Navy types. If it's run at a game store, you get a wider variety, because you take what you can get.

My group is 2 grad students, 1 lab tech, 1 undergrad, and I'm trying to talk a truck driver into joining if his schedule permits, because I know he runs a Spycraft game at GenCon and would enjoy a street sam.

Ask me about curved girder bridges, I dare you. :wobble:

I'm a Graphic Designer. I started playing SR in the early 90's, back when all the elves wore
mullets :smokin:. We took a ten year break and started up again about a year ago.

I rotate between three characters (2 Mages & an Adept Covert Ops Specialist). All my friends
are pretty much gun bunnies so this works out well.

I am a Technical Analyst for a well known Telecommunications Company. Boring work but it pays the bills. I dabble in alot of different things, writing, drawing, religous studies, math, science, computer graphics (though I have a running theme of starting things and never finishing them) I play all sorts of characters, but favor the adepts, most of my characters I play have a visual uniqueness about them and I never put a character down on paper before i have a working story in my head.

I work in Internet Security (detecting viruses, DMCA enforcement, etc).

I'm currently running a game and, for some strange reason, during the times I do play, I usually play as a decker.

Right now I'm just working grunt labor as a stocker for a major dept store chain. Which is sad cause I tested among the most intelligent in school, but I'm such a lazy slacker (compounded by the fact I HATED, DESPISED AND UTTERLY DETESTED the town and high school I was in) I never performed well in school (grade wise since Texas uses a fucked up grading system).

Prior to the current job I worked as an assembler for a national toy chain, prior to that I was a projectionist at a movie theatre (and no I didn't pull any Tyler Durden stunts on the job :D ), previously did customer service desk/cashier at a sporting goods store, before that I worked with a local custom computer and electronic salvage store, previous to that I was still living at with my parents and split my time as a high school student, a fast food cook and firefighter (notice how I've really slid downhill these last 10 years).

Still, I figure if I hadn't gotten out of shape and gained the 75 to 80+ pounds working that computer job (and had my self confidence shot to shit once I realized just how fat assed I let myself get) I would have taken a shot at the Austin Fire Dept.
Now I'm just a loser with a high school diploma barely getting by even with a roommate.

I own my own company doing computer work and work as a contractor doing database development.

I run a game as well as play in a game that one of the other player runs. I have 10 characters that I can play and I got bored one day and created about 200 NPCs.

speaking of NPCs, if any one needs some I can send a link for download.
