Yes :vegm:

The very basics state that any such cyberware is already stressed ("glitched" -- and it can't really be fixed, ever). Beyond that ... well, that's the kind of thing GMs have far too much fun with :D

I hate my teachers right now. I've got two big pieces of work due in in today & tomorrow respectively (though thank god I get 90 minutes lesson time to finish my English essay) so I can't really concentrate on anything but making sure I don't get thrown out of college (looking at my maths work, I'm probably not gonna sleep much tonight).

Anyway, all I've really got for my character is a couple of names I might use as handles ("Kilohertz" & "Makaber"), and a rough background with him being a corp born kid that went to college to train as a decker, but was thrown out after he was discovered hacking into the college network and altering grades for a fee, so they threw him out.

Looks like something i certainly shall be joining in with. I`ve been GM`ing SR for a couple of years now but havent had the chance to play in at least four.
I`m a bit rusty with the old board posting game style. But once i get through reading all the appropriate threads you can bet your Nuyen i`ll be in.

School's first, of course! but looking forward to running with both of you (once you're free, Nightcrawler :) ).

Moirdryd, you mention some GMing experience: after you finish reading through the thread (and given that of course you'd be playing your own PC as well!) ... is GMing another player through LitS something you might wish to consider as well?

I`d certainly be willing to once i get my feet wet so to speak and if i shape up to the need. Hard to judge how good an Shadowrun GM i am because my group was all brand new to SR (though have all been roleplaying for at least half a decade to a decade) when i started the games up (and at that time i`d only played in two short campaigns several years before) and only now are they really fitting comfortabley into the style of the SR universe (meta-verse?). Having said that they are all still running the same chars now from a year ago when they started and stories are told of games past.

Heh. Getting your feet about a month's worth of wet in playing in LitS is one of the standard prerequisites for GMing in-thread :) How better to know what you're getting into?

But taking a long step back at this point ... don't want to be pressuring you, want you to have fun!

Sedna, I have reviewed the posts and I wanted to let you know that I would be willing to GM a character after having gotten into the flow of the game again. I have played shadow run off and on since I was in college almost a decade ago and I GM'ed some of my friends then. I've also got some cool ideas I'd like to try out on live people and see how they fly. First I'd like to play a character awhile and re-learn the rules.

WinterRat1, sent an email to you about this. I'm a complete shadowrun noob, and I'll need a little help building and fleshing my character. Seems like a good place to start playing, though.

Just fyi ... we're working on it. Really. It's just been a hellish week all round for all of us, which is why the slow week on the threads and on the background work. (Sorry!)

Hey Everyone,

A brief announcement. Since this thread has opened we have been SWAMPED with new players seeking to join the game. This is a good thing. However, one thing I want to let everyone know, unless you have actually emailed me a character I have ON FILE as your 'rough draft', I do not have you in my character directory system.

So if you PMed or emailed me something asking me questions about your character and I haven't gotten back to you, it is NOT because I'm ignoring you. More likely, I've just been running around trying to make sure I answer everyone's questions and I probably lost you in the shuffle. So if you ask me a question or send me something and don't hear back from me in a couple days, just PM me and ask for your status, and I'll be more than happy to let you know.

Also, the closer you follow the Guidelines, the easier and faster I can process you, so please help me out when you submit stuff. OK, that covers it. Thanks again everyone for your interest and I look forward to seeing you in LITS!

Man, I am *so* interested, but I won't have time for anything this in-depth for weeks at least. I haven't had much of a chance to look through much of the threads, but I was wondering how long recruitment will be possible? That is, is everyone being expected to read through everything, and are newbies expected to "catch up" by reading all the current threads? Because although I'm willing to and have accomplished similar feats in the past, reading through 100+ pages of backstory just to get a chance to insert my character will be difficult at best.

Recruitment is an ongoing affair in LiTS. From all the new PC applications we get we will put as many into the game as we can fairly GM and as more players step up to becoming a GM, the number of new PC's that we can accept also increases. Unlike any other game on Dumpshock, LiTS will not close down to incoming players, just the rate at which we bring new PC's into the game may be slow at times.

We ask potential players to browse as many of the current threads as possible so that they get an idea of the level of RPing and style of gameplay that we are hoping to uphold. The drive to create a 'living world' creates a far different game than is standard on these forums.

Bastard, Scrapheap- Your characters are in their 'finished' stage on your ends if I'm not mistaken. I am worked about 60-65 hrs a week these days, so time is sparse. I will have your evaluations/responses back to you by monday. (I'll do them this weekend). Thanks for your patience!

WinterRat1,

Any idea where my character stands in the evaluation stages? No hurry in finalizing for me, just looking for a bit of an update.

Thanks,

I knew I forgot someone. Drat. Sorry about that. Slipshade, your character is Max, correct? (Don't have my files with me right now). If your character is Max, you're in the same boat as Scrapheap and Bastard: I will review your character this weekend and get back to you by Monday with my comments.
