QUOTE (akarenti)
In my game, I usually encourage players not to pay up lifestyles more than a few months ahead, so I can call in SWAT teams or whatever without them loosing too much money (esp. considering they'll at least loose all the equipment they can't carry).

Or you just play it a little smart. Buy the place anonymously through a couple offshore holding companies and then rent it out to yourself with all the paperwork. Simply cycle the rent you pay every month back into your accounts to pay the next one and you're pretty much covered. Even if you have to run out on the place and the police try to seize it, XYZ Rentals is just an innocent victim duped by their tenant.

What I would like a price on is train station lockers, safety deposit boxes, and other small storage facilities. A membership to a golf club including storage locker gives you space to store some heavy artillery (in a golf bag with zip closed cover) and nobody will really notice that you never show up to play.

Mr. J's LBB, p. 87, Falcon Express Bus Station lockers are 15 :nuyen: per week.

The fees for the golf clubs is GM fiat. I would place it at 2,000 :nuyen: , same as season tickets.

Golf Club memberships are usually a relatively significant start up fee, then a monthly fee (low lifestyle ~ :nuyen: 1,000) and a requirement that you eat a certain amount of food and drink a certain amount of booze at the club per month. I would say having one of these could blow your cover as easily as be a place to stock your gear.

The food and drink requirement does not mean you MUST eat and drink there. The alternative is getting charged the minimum and getting no food or drink for it. Then again, I don't know how much suspicion paying the extra all the time would arouse.

I'll just repeat my question: does anyone bother getting a permanent lifestyle when they're _not_ retiring the character?

Also yes. Not necessarily high-end, but a permanent Low or Squatter lifestyle or three can definitely be handy, and not too painful to lose.
