Does anybody thought about modification of Magic the Gathering computer Game into Shadowrun Card Game?
Maybe that would be good promotion of Shadowrun (to be honest I'm not card fan :grinbig: ) |

I'VE been thinking of a GURPS Shadowrun campaign. Yes, I'm back!

What do you mean exactly? Making a computer game based on the SR CCG rules? Or making a MtG set based on SR characters and actions, but using MtG rules?

Hmm... Sounds difficult to do. I don't know if the code of the MTG game is open source (or at least has a mod development kit) as Half Life is. My bet is it isn't. And even if it is, the 2 games have different mechanics that are not easy to fit in each other for an effective cross-over.

GURPS, yes. Magic the Addiction, no. I despise CCGs/TCGs.

aaaaah ... thought I had read your name somewhere ... were you one of those who, umm, invaded the Bethesda forums a while back when they had bought the license, by any chance? And since you should know, what, if any, are the news for thast new FO game Bethesda's cooking? And while we're at it, is NAthere ANY project, game mod or official computer game, of a shadowrun game? Just wondering. I kinda liked the SNES game, even though it really raped the world and all ... and I personally would like to see someone make a bit use of the possibilities of the Shadowrun game world. |

bookwyrm: As I said "to be honest I'm not card fan". hermit Nice OT. I'm from polish SHAMO Fallout forum - that's board for few good Fo sites in Poland (and if you looking for mods, check Fallout Modding Centre. Jargo and the crew are making very good job . And mods :D ). O - btw - fallout code IS NOT open source :) . If you saw my nick: maybe on No Mutants Allowed board. Troika just fell if you doesn't know yet (founders of that's company created Fo1). Troika created Arcanum, too.
Engine from Morrowind ;( . Chosen One on the horse :P :P :P
If I could chose, I prefer Shadowrun mod based on Jagged Aliiance 2, or (even better) Arcanum - but that's tons of work. btt.
Yes, man. That's I'm asking myself since I know Fallout community :) But... Yes, yes. There is a project of Shadowrun crpg! Shadowrun online Could anybody could contact this guy (it's one person's project), And ask him , if he still doing something about this? I'm very interested. And my English, as you see isn't too good... And there is Nihgtfire project And: DCShadowRunV3 That's all I know. |

Yes, mattness, I understand you're not a card fan. But like you, I too was expressing my opinion. IT was a few years ago, when MtG was just starting out, hitting all the conventions, that I happened to be taking the same MTA train as one of the game's designers. We struck up a conversation (it was going to be a 1 & 1/2 hour train ride, even with me changing trains at the mid-way point) and he offered to teach me MtG. Despite his efforts & nigh-inifinite patience, I could not get the hang of it. But that's me.

I would personally think that a modification for Baldur's Gate II or Neverwinter would work nicely. It's relatively easy to create sprites for BGII (NVN, I do'nt know), and several total-conversions for BGII already exist. Values for assorted things would have to be tweaked, but guns and such could be treated as bows and almost everything else is already there in both games, only requiring minor tweaks. Of course, the two games are very different (NVN utilizes a (meta)human GM, I think), but either way it could be interesting.

Isnt there already a ccg around, i remeber seeing a set "floating" around the dowloadables of some d/l programs. Is this what you are after, or something more extensive?

Yes there is a SR mod at ccg. I didn't know that, when I posted that thread. Sorry. |
