Oh, not at all. It's a common misconception though--it's actually scanning the text behind it and producing a high resolution image of that text on its surface. If you look for the distortion caused by the contour of the lettering, you should be able to pick it out.

With modifiers topping at +12 it's better than invisibility, finding it's gonna be hard.

You'd be better off feeling the book, because you're going for feeling it, of which ruthenium doesn't help at all.
