Oh, not at all. It's a common misconception though--it's actually scanning the text behind it and producing a high resolution image of that text on its surface. If you look for the distortion caused by the contour of the lettering, you should be able to pick it out. |

You'd be better off feeling the book, because you're going for feeling it, of which ruthenium doesn't help at all.
