I've recently started GMing Earthdawn (1st Edition, core rules only). I would appreciate if someone could point me at:

a) Any official errata.
b) A list of sample NPCs (mostly to get an idea of what is balanced in this system).
c) A complete list of 1st Edition products.

I also heard rumors of an official character generator, but googling for it turns out an invalid link. any ideas where to get it?

By the way, what would you advise me to get after the core book?

Thanks! :)

What parameters did you use for your search?

A Google search for 'Earthdawn character generator' (no quotes) turned up the EDCG as the first entry, which seems to be for 1st Edition (link works). It also turned up Second Step, which is for Second Edition (link also works)

I hope this helps. :)

Lemme look for my linkies...

This site (Mine) may not be the best ED resource on the web, but it has Errata in the Projects section, gathered from all over the net.

Also, I have complete book lists there...

As for priority of books...

The three supplemental Rules books are crucial, but all tricky to find. Companion, Magic, and Arcane Mysteries will all serve you well. For a good overview of setting I recommend the Barsaive Box Set, and I personally can't imagine running ED without Creatures and the two Denizens books. Everything else is gravy...

But damn good gravy.

Hopefully my webpage can help you out.

The companion would give you some good ideas for NPC's, and a better idea of how the circles work.
I've never even seen the creatures book, but the 2 magic books, especially the main magic book, is a real great one. All the rules for blood magic, 'pushing your talents', etc.

Also, the Book(s) of Exploration are great just to add depth the world.

The best place to find Earthdawn stuff is at EDPT

Second Step is the Character/creature generator by Lars Gottlieb. The Second Step
