Same here. And I thought figuring it out the first time was annoying.

Ok, I'm an idiot.

It should work fine now.

We're in the middle of an office move, so I'm on dial-up.

I use that as my excuse ;)

Hmm... am I the only one who thinks it's kinda strange that they're publishing System Failure at the same time (or even after?) they're supposed to release a new and improved basic rulebook? Either there's something wrong with me or then somebody at FanPro has made a weird marketing move. Or then SR players (other than myself) just are filthy rich. Either way, I just hope doesn't mean that they'll put all the really neat stuff concerning the events that take place in 2065 in SF and not in the 4th Edition BBB.

And this just sucks in the sense that my campaigns are still pretty much going in the year 2060. I was thinking of buying YotC, but if this is really true and 4th Edition is coming out and it turns out to be as cool as it's hyped to be, I might just skip to year 2070.

WTF...

Did you not read the Catalog (or my thread)? SC is what makes SR4 possible...

You mean SF? Yeah, I know that. And I suppose it does make sense to release a separate supplement for it - at least those people who have been following the timeline will have a blast with SF. What I thought was somewhat strange was that they're releasing it at the same time as SR4 - it's not as if SF is going to attract a lot of new players. On the other hand it feels kinda cool to think that FanPro is willling to release a supplement which - at least according to my logic - will only attract fans of the game, and not even all of those, for some people just will not be buying it and others will probably just skip to SR4...

Did that make any sense to you?

wow, they're talking about putting out a lot of books this year:
    * Shadowrun, 4th Ed
    * Loose Alliances
    * Shadows of Asia
    * Shadows of Latin America
    * System Failure
    * SR4 GM Screen
    * On the Run
    * Street Magic
I'll love having all the new stuff to play with, but hope that trying to produce so many releases won't keep them from giving SR4 the intense scrutiny required to make us Dumpshocking nit-pickers happy.

Any ideas yet on what changes are going to take place in the rules from SR3 to SR4?

I'm guessing System failure is slated to go out before the SR4 and will be a cataclysmic event in 2065 that explains why the world of SR4 is drastically changed in 2070.

A pity that Running Wild seems to be on infinite hiatus. I always figured having an outdoorsy SR book was my only hope at getting my handle into shadowtalk.

Consider this... SR4 is coming out. SR4 might need a critter book.

What about a ware book? I mean , just about everyone will have ware, not every character has magic...

I would hope that the rules books we have now are compatable with the new rules..Much like it was still reasonable to to use last edention cyberware books for ware that wasn't in the core book.

It sounds like SF is also more about plot than rules (like YotC). Considering YotC is 90% plot, and half of the 10% of the rules are worthless anyway (the whole SURGE thing is an interesting idea, but poorly developed, for instance), I don't think SR4 significantly decreases the worth of either.

Hopefully they'll keep the new edition in mind as they're finishing up SF, so it'll be fully compatible.

No worries Joe. There was a thread on ShadowrunRN about this, fanpro is converting the book to SR4 because it was delayed so long.
