I actually bought the shadowrun core book when I was about 14 (SR1). My friends and I couldn't figure out the rules, so we played D&D until college when I got back into shadowrun (SR2) with a new gaming group.

I get the feeling that most of the core shadowrun base that posts around here is in the same age group. My poll is to find out if there are any younger S.R. players out there. The best part about S.R. 4 is it gives Fanpro a chance to attract a younger fan base to keep this thing going and a more streamlined rules set will certainly help. Maybe if we're lucky, they can steal some market share from WoTC and White Wolf.

My only hope is that they follow S.R. 4 with a concerted marketing drive to get the new edition in the hands of younger players. I would really like to see the core book in the store shelves of your local Borders or Barnes & Noble to give consumers a choice besides D&D and White Wolf. Also, some adverts in comic books would help get the word out.

Anyone know or care to speculate what the S.R. 4 marketing strategy is?
