Okay, I can go with the "new-age" look of some of these machines...
...I think with the right paint-job, the Eurocar Westwind might actually look decent... ...and a ride in the Phaeton?! Droooool... ...but... MOST of these machines are U-G-L-Y...! What the hell is that about?! What self-respectin' biker would DARE ride a Scorpion?! Harley's rollin' over in his grave thinkin' 'bout all that fairing drek all over his creation! MAYBE if ya rip all the fairings off the Viking, it MIGHT look close to a modern Harley... (but because it'z Japscrap, no dice) Are all the old machines dead? Is it impossible to find muscle-cars, or even replicar versions of such? Ya, a '57 Bel Air is over a hundred years old... ...ya tellin' me that NO ONE in the auto-industry didn't see a market in the "nostagia" of the late 20th/21st century? (cries vehemently, leaning on the steering wheel of the souped-up '55 Chevy he's lovingly rebuilt...) |

well...you do know that most of the vehicle drawings come from Rigger Black book which was an early 90's, hence the incredible 80's look of everything.

well there is the whole big issue of pollution and such, not that that stops anyone. i know you can buy an additive so you can drive leaded only fueled vehicles. and i'm sure there are some "collectors" out there. why wouldn't there be. but the chances of finding one, let alone wanting to drive it around and watch gangers eye you up. and the acid rain...
kinjo ran a mad max character with the v-8 interceptor. it was a "unique" vehicle he did up from scratch. i suggest you take on a run that consists of looking for classic vehicles then "borrow" one. |

Look at the new hogs rolling off the line since the redesign a few years back. They've got more chrome than a razorboy who hit the lotto. There was actually a big uproar in the motorcycle community over them because of their look.

Can't remember which book , but one of them has a pic of a dragon reading a ticker tape , and there is a late 60's /early 70's Mustang behind him . So they are out there . It is just a matter of where.

Big D left someone a 60s model Mustang I believe in his will. Think of how much some of the old muscle cars are now when they're only 30-40 years old. Imagine how much they'll cost when they're 90-100 years old. Priced a Model T in perfect working condition recently?

The reconditioned ones brought back to factory condition go for six figures. And there's not much of a demand for a car with double-digit horsepower.

Anyone complaining about some of the designs in RBB should take a look at this:GM Hy Wire
I've actually seen this driven on tv and it is being presented as the industry standard for the next generation of automobiles. After that the designs in RBB don't look that out of place. |

Nice, now can I return to MY fantasy please?! (smirk) Take, for example, my Chezoom (it's a model I've got, designed by a guy who does custom aluminum rims, built by the infamous "Frankenstein")... a '57 Chevy body, and jus' about eVERYtHiNg ElSe is CORVETTE (late '90's Corvette that is...)! They said that only 10% of the original car was left after the conversion... Another example? Ford jus' released their NEW IMPROVED Thunderbird! Looks pretty good to me (although I miss the fins...) The '50's/'60's cars can give SR a dark, seedy underworld look; playing on the Batman driving his jet-powered Batmobile around Gotham, while everyone else is still driving '40's/'50's hardware idea... (smirk), you get that "high-tech-meets-goth" trick. I click to the idea of a REAL '55 Chevy bein' nigh impossible to find in operational status ("Hey boyz! Looky that! Is that real?! [place multiple near-do-wells attempting to hijack yer ride here]"), all I'm sayin' is that I can easily imagine a switch-back on the cars; FASHION has twisted back on the older styles. I heard a rumour that ZOOT SUITS were coming back... (shivers!) Well, I blathered enough for now; I've got ECM to install in my Ares Retro Bel-Air (snicker)... |
