The Enchanting Adept

Magic: B
Astral perception: Yes
Astral projection: No
Physical adept powers: No
Conjuring: watchers only until initiation
Spellcasting: none until initiation
Enchanting: treat as having "Competence" in the Enchanting skill (-1 to all related TNs)

Unlike most types of adepts and magicians, both sorcery and conjuring (except for watchers) become metamagics for the Enchanting Adept, with a maximum spell/spirit level equal to initiation grade. (Type of magic path - hermetic, wuxing, whatever - must be chosen as usual.) If the test to learn the conjuring metamagic is successful, the Enchanting Adept may choose to summon an ally as the ordeal for that initiation (maximum Force = initiation grade, but may be improved as the adept gains in initiation levels).

Bonuses: The Enchanting Adept gains the Tatooing skill as a freebie, but probably won't be able to make full use of it until initiated.

A second "invisible" bonus is that there exists a dedicated magical group ("Crafters": belief, deed [creating foci], fraternity) specifically for those who focus upon enchanting, and the Enchanting Adept may choose to begin as a member of this group (costs 3 sp). Members of the group gain a 25% discount on all enchanting-related materials for their own use (including orichalcum!), and are given free materials for the one focus per initiation grade they are required to make for the group (this covers their dues).

(Some of you - Lilt! - may recognise this template from an old enchanting/tattooing thread.)

Personally, I don't see the need; virtually all Awakened can use Enchanting, according to the FAQ and YotC. What you're describing is slightly more powerful than a Sorceror, for the same cost. You can achieve a similar effect by playing a sorceror with Aptitude: enchanting, without bending any rules.

You're kinder than I am.

Magic: C
Astral perception: Yes
Astral projection: No
Physical adept powers: No
Conjuring : nope
Sorcery : nada
Enchanting: can make most foci.

Can learn some metamagical techniques such as masking or divination. Remember an aspected enchanter isn't necessaryily better than a full magician enchanter. It's just he has so lot less other skills he needs to work on.
