Yay for digging-up a several-year-old post, but is there any way to find out one's own post count? How many posts have I made as a shooting target? What grades are there beyond?

Click your name, click "Find all posts by this member".

Each page contains 25 posts.

Multiply 25 by the number of pages - 1, then add the posts on the last page.

Congrats, your postcount!

As for the rest of the titles... Dunno.

Dumpshocked members like myself are people who donated to certain Dumpshock causes (such as the new server) and got a special title.

Thanks! Seems like I'm somewhere in the region of 1700 posts, the next two grades seem to be Neophyte Runner and Runner. The strange thing is that some people who have fewer posts than me (according to that technique) yet are higher than me on the members list sorted by posts. Could it be that the post counts from the accounts on the old servers have been carried over?

Some of their posts could have come from the now-defunct (and deleted) Lounge area. When a forum is deleted, the postcount for each user is not changed.

To find out your exact post count, send a PM to someone asking them to tell you, as it is included in PMs. ;)

I'm at 300 + posted and still a moving target.

Maybe I'll make a donation and get the Admin's to change it to YAkuza Assasin.

Those are all good ways. But I think it would just be easier to click on "My controls" and read the post count under the heading "Total number of posts to date", I am no expert or anything, but that seems a little simpler :grinbig:

Shadows posts: 6746.

I know around 5k is dragon. And if you ask fortune how many he has you can find out what Great Dragon is.

Someone mentioned my name??? :D

Hmmm ... not lately though. :(

Anyway, my post-count (and I haven't been here much in the last couple of years) currently stands at 16404. :P ;)

Immortal Elf, if you don't mind! :P
Although I [i]really would love the powers-that-be to drop the 't'. :D

I think Great Dragon is 10,000, and Immortal Elf is 15,000. ;)

[edit] Make that 16405! ;)

My last visit to Dumpshock was on November 24th, 2005. You cannot imagine the withdrawals I have been going through all year. :D

I didn't have the internet at all since May, so I have some idea. But you've got me beat by a good 6 months (and about 12,000 posts :D ). Nice to have you back. Watch out for Drop bears.

Don't worry, the servers do a fine job of that. All told from RN days onward who knows how many posts I really have. Since I've seen the board through several incarnations-and that's just the ones I've bothered to keep track of.

I've noticed that some posts of mine no longer exist. For instance, when I pull up "all posts made by this user", I see a single post from 18 May 2006, then nothing until I came back to Dumpshock on 03 Jan 2007. All of the posts that I made before 18 May 2006 that (presumably) have been deleted, did their loss affect my post count?

Probably. IIRC, post count is active content, generated by the server actually counting up how many posts have attributes that connect them to your account. So server changes, culling old content, etc would affect it.
