Seeking dedicated players to take on the roles of a top notch Mercenary squad.
125 points or priority character generation (standard availability/ ratings apply) 100 karma points +10 karma pool 250,000 yen added (availability of gear is 16) 5000 yen buys 1 Karma point Edges and Flaws max 10 ( must be within 1 point of each other or may buy edges with character points or use Flaws to buy character points.) Post brief/Semi-brief (as some of you are excellent writers) character concept/ Background. Please do not submit a character sheet until I ask. I'm not looking for purely combat orientated characters...a pure drone rigger wouldnt fair well though. If all players (those picked) agree to it I will allow a team karma pool. Cost to start is 10 karma from each, and 2 karma per extra. [intial team pool will be number of players] This stipulates the Characters know each other well. |

I'd be interested in joining this game. How's a Troll combat mage (astral specialist) sound for this?

I will say this it's best to put in 1 or 2 points in parachuting and some language skills even chipped ones will help out.

How’s this:
Human Older "early 40's" Ex military Special Forces, from CA. He was the medic of the team but being in Special Forces you need to know how to use a gun pretty well. Was a military man for 18 years and run with a Mercenary group for 6 until half the group got killed "the group was made up of mostly his core military squad. . . . Will start up on a basic character sheet. Will submit it when approved |

Name: Tartan Race: Elf (By way of Scotland) Specialty: Heavy Weapons and Explosives. I'll get more background to you soon. |

I'm not completely sure but if he's from CA as a military man he's Japanese right? Thats occupied or what isnt is a Free state i believe. Also Atzlan is alittle above San Diego if i'm not mistaken. Run with the medic idea though its a good one...every team needs a medic/corpman.

Wouldnt hurt to post a well scripted concept. It defines the character not just for me as the GM, but to you the player when it comes to assigning attributes and skills etc.

A couple questions.
1. Did I read that right? 5000 nuyen per 1 karma point??? 2. Can they be part of an initiatory group or do they have to self-initiate? 3. How much will background come into play in the game? 4. Is this a one shot game or intended to be a long running campaign? 5. Can we have a little more detail about what the team will be doing? Are they going to be in a set battlefield/war zone fighting (e.g. Aztlan) or are they going to be doing a lot of traveling and have a more international flavor to the game? 6. Do you mean mercenary as in 'soldiers of fortune' in a traditional sense, or the more SR-interpretation of 'urban mercenaries/soldiers for hire in any environment' kind of mercenary? |

Alright this one sounds fun, I've been wanting to play a tactical game for sometime, I was going to run one but I'd much rather play.
Heres my concept (I'll flesh him out when I have more time): Adept(maybe), Ex. counter terrorism and intelligence officer trained in urban and dessert warfare, functioning knowledge of explosives and HALO jumps. Specialty: Counter sniper/marksman After 25 years of military service, Major Jack Crawford retired from the marines. He tried civillian life for a few months but the fires of battle soon reignited when he got message from a private sector mercenary recruiter. He enjoyed being back in the swing of things and having a cause, even if it was the cause of the highest bidder. His Marine Corp training served him well and he soon met up with his current team. His lack in social graces is well made up for in sheer combat skills, an expert on a small arsonal of weapons including, assault rifles, pistols, and heavy weapons to name a few. He carries two custom made weapons into battle with him, an assault rifle he lovingly calls the Equalizer and a revolver he calls the destroyer(if custom weapons are cool). |

Here's my concept.
Name: Queenashano or War Eagle Race: Troll Age: late 30s-early 40s War Eagle is from the Ute Nation, part of the Comanche tribe and named after a 19th century chief. War Eagle dabbles in a bit of everything. Being from the Ute, he's used to harsh, nomadic lifestyle. He got his start early on, having stolen a bike and joining a local combat biking league at the age of twelve. From the very start, he was a fierce warrior, with an eye for the kill and an extreme opportunist. He quickly became a local champion, for years running and decided that he should further hone his skills. Using winnings, donations and anything he could "convince" people to give him, he was able to afford a technical school education (not something to take lightly in the Ute) and even some college. His primary area of study was medicine, and right out of school he signed on to DocWagon in one of their HTR teams. Milking his job for all it was worth, he picked up a varied set of skills, including Search & Rescue Operations, Biotech and Low-Altitude Drop. Not only that but he learned tactics...and more tactics. War Eagle's problem was that he got a taste for the hunt. He started liking to kill. Unfortunately this led to a series of high-profile bloodbaths and DocWagon was nice enough to release him from his contract (Perhaps they were too afraid to try and kill him). Being the resourceful fellow that he is, War Eagle used his hunting experience and friends to start up a hunting business specializing in exotic game. Touristy kind of stuff, for the corporate types. The basic, trap the prey, give goober the gun and let him take the kill...and an exorbitant extra cost if the loser wants the hide or a bust of his "catch". You know the deal.. Well, War Eagle must be cursed or something, because some poor slob, son-of-a-top-executive on his first hunt got himself geeked somehow. War Eagle still doesn't know how it all went down and strongly suspects foul play but all he knows is that it took some major favors to evade the wrath of the guy's dad and now War Eagle is out of business. Following this, War Eagle got himself involved with merc-for-hire operations and in his spare time organizing smuggling groups operating between the Ute, Pueblo Council and the California Free State. Most of the smuggling involved getting unsavory types of Anglos (that's kind of redundant in the Ute) in and around the place...especially Salt Lake City. When this little business venture got noticed by the guys running things, War Eagle was given a polite but firm invitation to persue business interests elsewhere and an armed escort (more like a convoy) to the CFS border. Skills Summary: War Eagle is very much a Leader in terms of his personality. He has a small but extremely proficient set of skills. What he lacks in skillsets he makes up for in the fact that he is both a walking tank and a brilliant tactician. He has yet to meet a match in this particular area. Being a perfectionist and a need to know everything that's going on around him, he's a bit demanding of the people that he leads/works with, but it keeps together a tight-knit and efficient team and all the angles are ALWAYS covered. |

The two concept characters I have is.
1. Field Medic Level 8 Specializing in field surgery, with small arms training. 2. Merc for higher. The type who has a morale code which he lives buy. I would have to say I would have to take chance with the werc for higher, as his morale codes may not suite the campaign. Yet with all the extra Karma I could specialise with a Bear shamen field medic who uses convetional medicine as well as magic. Yet even I could try the straight forward cybered field medic, or just a plan field medic. |

"The Panther" was a feared name amongst the temple guards of Aztlan, the Amazonian guardian had made himself seen once again as he ripped through yet another platoon of guards who were out collecting taxes in the distant villages. His black form tore through them and left nothing but sickening carnage everywhere. More hunting parties were sent out, bounties were raised, but this mythical animal had become a legend amongst the commoners who were forced to live under the iron heel of Aztlan, something that had finally stood up and fought back. The guerillas became more motivated, attacks against Aztlan increased 10 fold over the past 4 months since the Panther attack started.
Panther is a shamanic warrior who has made magic his bed fellow, and used it to perfect his body into that of a killing machine. Despite all of that, the man who becomes the Panther, Cornelius, is a well educated gentleman who performs his vigilante work against the oppressors. His vengeance for his parent's deaths being paid back a thousand fold. |

1. Yes 5000 yen buys a Karma point 2. The Intiatory group is only if the players agree to the team karma pool. That isnt to say i will not pick someone because they dont want it. 3. Your background can come into play as appropriate. 4. My hopes is it is a campaign, thats why i want only dedicated players. 5. You will be traveling alot, provided this becomes a campaign. 6. You will be mercenaries in the sence of soldiers of fortune. Kiedo: Sounds good, only thing is Marine officers are not rifle handlers in the sence of snipers, that is enlisted men. There is an alternative: Marine Gunner, which is a prior enlisted man who has been picked for the Gunner program. The program creates the Gunner into an Infantry specialist in all MOS's. The insignia is a bursting bomb (looks like an angry pineapple) and an oak leaf on the other collar. This is an actual rank in the Marine Corps. |

May I recomend and request the use of Rayguns weapons (not his rules) they certainly add to the feel of a tactical oriented game.
