Alright, I've never run one of these before, so we'll see how this works out...

Looking for 3-5 players for a game. Starting level shadowrunners willing to do some globetrotting. :)

Guidelines:
125 Build Points
No Otaku or Shifters
Maximum six Edges and Flaws (if you take all flaws, I will punish you ;) )
Avail 8 / Rating 6 gear
Background is required... mindless killing machines will be refused outright.
Max one decker, one rigger, one full magician (if the game gets filled I'll allow an aspected), one adept.

If there's something I haven't covered in terms of chargen, ask and I will let you know if it's kosher or not.

A word of warning... this thread may move slightly slower than others, simply because I can often check once or twice a day through the week, but almost never on weekends. If you are alright with that pace, then welcome aboard. :)

The meet for the run is in Seattle, but the run itself is not. It is a standard shadowrun with starting runners.

Does that answer your question at all?

Do you plan for this to be a one shot or a campaign?

Edit: Also, when is this game going to begin?

Name: Demelka
Race: Elf
Sex: Female
Occupation: Freelance Professional Body Guard, who like the thrill of Shadow work.

"Hello Mr Tenaka how are you today?"
"Fine thank you Mr Wong, please take a seat."
"Thank you, so who is this lovely lady?"
Demelka eyes bead across Mr Wong and his two goons he has with them. These Yakusa will try nearly anything. The Goons smile at her enjoying the revealing clothing she is wearing. Shifting her position on the bench revealing her firm contours of her athletic build. Since they have seen her they have not lost eye contact with her.

The conversation heats up and the goons are totally absorbed with the woman at Mr Tenaka's side.

Wong stands abruptly. "Kill him!!"

The goons are surprised at Wongs actions.

The sound of an explosion from a barrel of a gun is the last thing heard buy the first goon. As the large calibre slug rips through his skull and displaces a large portion of his cranium behind him.

The second goon fumbles with his side arm, he too is to late. The second round rips into his rib cage. Splintering Bones as the bullet passes through his lung and out his back. The second goon triggers his gun before he has a bead on Mr Tenaka.

Mr Wongs face goes white and turns to run. As he sees his to bodyguards fall to the ground. The second goon still gasping for air as blood fills his largest lung, coughing blood as he tries to recover from the impact of the bullet. Trying to get in his piece of the action, he lifts his gun. Its still to late the third round from the Browning Max rip into his chest again splintering more bone. The bullet pass through his heart and lodges in his scapular. He slumps to the floor drawing his last bloody breaths.

Before Mr Wong clears a few meters from the table, his back goes warm and his lower back goes numb, as the bullets severs the spinel collum, shattering two of the lower vertebrates. He collapses to the floor.
"DON'T KILL ME!! DON'T KILL ME!!"
Even that was to late as the final round enters the base of the neck and enters into the skull silencing his screams of mercy.

"Mr Tenaka you alright?" Demelka ask as she removes herself from his lap with the Browning still trained on the Goons as she scans for more at the entrance.

"Let go before the rest come, let go now." Holding his hand she make way for the front door.

I have a covert ops spec. I’ve been working on. Elf infiltration/intelligence adept. NOT a killing machine, but I don’t know how well that concept would fit into your game. If you are interested, I can post some background by the end of the week, full character sheet by the middle or end of next week.
May I ask; Year of setting?

For now, this is a one-shot run. The run is a "simple" courier mission.

The game will begin when I have a game's worth of players and their characters.

The year is 2063, but I don't own a copy of SotA: 2063...although I may be able to borrow one. If you absolutely must use a piece of gear from SotA: 2063, give me a page number and I'll swipe my buddy's copy and have a gander.

Everyone still interested?

This is something I wrote as a background for Razz. It is not fully complete, but I think it good enough to post what I have so far.

Razz threw himself down behind a parked Toyota Elite as automatic weapons fire ripped through the space he had just occupied. He hit the hard asphalt next to Twitch.
“Oh drek, oh drek, oh drek!” yelled the gnome decker. He was curled up into a ball and whimpered as more gunfire tore chunks out of the bricks behind them.
“Clam the frag down!” Razzed yelled back. The ork reached under his long coat and unfastened his AK-97 assault rifle from the sling that allowed it to hang vertically at his side. “I knew we shouldn’t have brought him along,” he muttered under his breath as he unfolded the gun’s wire frame stock and worked the action.
A woman’s voice erupted from the radio receiver in his ear, “You know we needed the halfer to hack their system from inside.”
“Kim? Where are you?” Razz was surprised. This was the first he had heard from her since he saw her take a shotgun blast to the chest. He had figured her for dead when she did not respond to his calls.
“Down the street a ways,” she replied. There was a pause accompanied by gunfire that Razz could hear over the radio and from about half a block away. “I’m a little deep in the drek right now with a couple of corp goons. You?”
“Drone,” was all that Razz managed to get out before the metallic tearing sound of bullets hitting the Elite’s body caused him to hug the ground even tighter.
“Well take it out and get your hoops over to Seventh and Schindler. Big C’s going to meet us there with his van.”
“Got ya,”
“And I don’t need to tell you how important Twitch is.”
“Yeah, see you there.”
He glanced down and made sure the magazine in his AK hand a band of yellow tape around it. He would need explosive ammo to take on a combat drone. He looked at his diminutive companion. The gnome was useless, still locked in a fetal position, moaning to himself. This was the first and last time he would be working with this drekhead. Razz would have considered leaving the decker for the corpers, but the team’s score was locked away inside Twitch’s headware memory. Without that info, they would not get paid.
Weapon ready, Razz began whispering ancient words, the likes of which had not been uttered in millennia. As he spoke he traced his finger in the air. His hand left a faint glowing line in its wake. The eerie sigil was completed at the same moment that he uttered the final phrase. The glowing lines flared briefly then disappeared. Although nothing changed from Razz’s perspective, he knew that he would be invisible to both men and machines.
He kept concentrating on the mana flowing around him as the drone fired again. This time several of the car’s windows shattered, covering the runners with glass and causing Twitch to scream. Razz could hear the drone’s humming electric motor as it rolled closer to their hiding place. Trusting his spell, the ork rolled out onto the sidewalk, then knelt and put his weapon to his left shoulder, leveling it at the Steel Lynx combat drone mere meters away.
The Steel Lynx was a formidable opponent. Razz could see its heavy armor plating and the Ares Alpha combat gun mounted on its turret-like sensor housing. It was slowly approaching the Toyota, turning away from him to move around the other end of the car. He took careful aim, allowing the crosshair projected onto his retina by his smartlink system to line up with the drone’s ammunition feed system. He had one chance to score a killing blow. As soon as he fired, his magical illusion would be shattered. The invisible ork squeezed the trigger of his rifle twice, fighting the weapon’s recoil as two three-round bursts of explosive tipped bullets erupted against the Steel Lynx.
The shots started a chain reaction as the caseless Alpha bullets began to explode, traveling down the feeding unit into the drone’s ammunition bay. The Steel Lynx ripped itself apart from the inside. Razz grunted as a shard piece of metal embedded itself in his armored vest. Careful not to cut himself on the shrapnel, he pulled it out and dropped it on the ground. Cutting off the flow of mana, he terminated his invisibility spell.
There was a sustained burst of gunfire from down the street and Razz looked in time to see a corporate security guard fall backward, the front of his armored bodysuit full of smoking holes. Kim stood up from behind a car and waved to him, motioning for him to come to her. Bad luck had gotten them caught. Now they had to get away before the run was truly hosed.
The ork looked back at Twitch, who was still on the ground, “Come on!” he yelled. “The drone’s gone!” His words did not seem to have any effect on the frightened gnome.
Kim’s exasperated voice exploded in his ear, “Razz, you dumb trog, hurry the frag up!”
Sick of Twitch’s cowardice and angry at Kim’s derogatory slang, Razz strode over to the gnome, picked him up, and began running towards Kim. The decker remained nearly comatose while riding over the ork’s shoulder.
He found the female street sam leaning heavily against the side of a Ford Americar. Blood leaked from several places under her clothes. She took one look at Twitch and scowled.
“Drek! Stupid halfer forgot to take his medication.”
“Tell me about it,” Razz replied with disgust. “Which way to the pick-up?”
She pointed at a nearby alley, “Down there and to the left. You two’ll come out on Seventh, and then it’s half a block west. Big C’ll be waiting.”
“What about you?”
“I took a few rounds in the legs. They’re more metal than meat, but I can’t run. I’ll hit the sewers and meet up with you later.”
Razz opened his mouth to argue with her but a high pitched whine followed by the sound of a heavy machine gun firing stole his words. Kim threw herself into him and the three shadowrunners fell to the ground. Large caliber slugs impacted all around them for a moment, and then stopped. The whine grew to a roar as the Yellowjacket security helicopter swooped over them.
Kim reacted with the incredible speed gifted to his by her wired reflexes, yelling and raising her MP-5TX to rip off a full-auto burst at the vehicle. But even she was too late. The chopper veered off around a building. It would be moments before it came back for another pass.
“Go!” Kim shouted.
“Frag that!” Razz yelled back. “You’re coming too!”
“What? Are you going to carry us both?”
Razz did not answer as he got to his feet, leaving his rifle where it lay. He reached into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a red medicinal inhaler. He put it to his lips and pressed the release button. The drug filled his lungs with fire and quickly diffused into his bloodstream. Kamikaze, as the drug was called on the streets, was a combat enhancer, in moments Razz was several times stronger than normal and his reflexes quickened, but only iron determination prevented him from slipping into drug induced madness.
He grabbed the gnome and held him under his right arm. He ignored further protests from Kim as he threw her over his left shoulder. The human woman was heavier than he expected, testament to the amount of cyberware inside her body.
The Yellowjacket came back around the skyscraper and Razz ran for the alleyway, his vision tunneling. The Americar exploded behind him as bullets from the helicopter’s machine gun tore into it. The gun’s turret rotated and fire followed the runners to the mouth of the alley.
Razz came to an intersection and turned left, but was forced to stop running by a four meter high chain link fence. Careful not to dump Kim onto the ground he raised his left arm and extended his cyber spur from the sheath in his forearm. The blade was thirty centimeters long and as he slashed the fence with drug strengthened strokes, the razor cut the plasteel as if it were paper. As he cut a hole big enough for them to pass through Twitch slipped out of his arm. Razz bent down and grabbed the gnome by his belt and sprinted through the fence.
After a few moments he exploded out of the alley into an area with heavy pedestrian traffic. The bright neon and the glare from the public trid screens stabbed into his dilated pupils. He sidestepped one couple, nearly knocking them over. A gaggle of teenaged girls, dressed for a night of club-hopping, began to scream when they saw the huge ork run past carrying a gnome and a bleeding woman. Razz could see the Seventh and Schindler intersection up ahead. Sure enough, Big C’s stepvan was innocently parked along the side of the street, waiting for them to arrive. It was getting hard to breathe. Razz opened his mouth to pull more air into his burning lungs, but found it full of thick foam. He spat it out onto the sidewalk.
A Lone Star patrol officer, assigned to give an air of safety to the high-class area, decided to be a hero. Pulling his Ares Supersquirt he stepped into the runners’ path, leveling his gun.

You don't necessarily need to post your character here. You can PM them to me for approval.

I'll keep all the character profiles in my Inbox for easy reference throughout the game, while keeping characters somewhat of an enigma to their teammates.

Now, do people want to roll their own die rolls, or do I handle all the mechanics?

Get all these mechanical type things resolved before we get this show on the road. :)

Odd. I must have missed this thread when it first came through. Some of my other games have slowed down and I've been looking for another to join. When were you planning to start the game? What character concepts do you have so far so I know what'll fit?

I plan on starting when I get all the characters (my schedule promises to be sporatic, so this will not be a fast game). I need three to six.

So far, I have a combat mage (Musashi) and a covert ops specialist (Thomas). I'll only allow a second magician if we have four or more players.

I'm looking for starting runners with diverse talents. No killing machines...I want charatcers with backgrounds and a soul. That's about it. :)

I'm an easy man to please.

Ok. It may be a bit cheesy, but I'm all in the mood for a ninja. I'm thinking that he worked for a local clan that did work for the Yaks. He was hired to do an assassination and botched the job. Rather than deal with the harsh punishments that Yaks have for failure, he decided run. He moved to Seattle and thus far has managed to stay under the local Yak radar, but... ya never know.

I'm gunna go the cybered route, human as a race (obviously). I'll have a sheet thrown together soon for you to look at.

Well it looks like the mage slot is taken, so if there is still a spot open, I will put a character together tomorrow with back ground. I don't do mindless killing, unless thats the character...anyways.
And you said 6 edges and flaws. Did you mean points or did you mean 6 listed edges amd flaws?
Also, not that I am a mage, but what were you going to give for cash to force points? 25K, 10K?

So far, I have two characters submitted... Ecclesiastes, I look forward to your ninja. :)

GaiasWrath, feel free to send me whatever (although we do have a mage). If the game gets filled, I might allow an aspected mage...

By six Edges and Flaws I meant numbers of them, not points. So, Edges + Flaws cannot equal more than six.

For the cash to spell points, I'm sticking to the standard 25,000¥.
