Well ok... through out the night and the whole morning I'll be scanning radio frequencies and if I hear anything besides fuzz I'll try to establish communications.
I leave my shot gun and all its ammo in my apartment with Kirstin my wife I loaded it with flechetti rounds and set the choke on 2 before giving it to her (she is too shoot anyone but me or Mike coming through the door). I also take out the grenades and grappling gear from their respective pouches, freeing up some cargo room to carry anything useful I might find. Gear carried: Security armor and helmet, riot shield, pistol in holster, knife, extendable baton, 2 sets of plastisteel restraints on belt, Combat vest, 1 pistol pouch(2 full spare clips for Pred III), 6 empty shotgun pouchs (can hold 120 shells), 1 large equipment pouch, 2 small equipment pouches. I lock the door to my apartment after I leave! Ok ready to Leave when ES_Sparky says! |

As for Radio messages, every band is over-ridden by the army, warning people not to leave the quarantine area in a nicely recorded manner which loops indefinitely. You'll need some sort of scrambler/booster/something to even use any waves in the city for awhile.

The comlink (rating 5) says I can lock out channels so i guess ill make all 10 channels available through it locking out the military hotmike jamming. I still use the radio (rating 8 ) to monitor its 16 channels... all clutter.
Ill name all my locked out channels Secure 1-10 and my radio would have a flux of 3 (half its rating 4 -1 for urban enviornment) for a range of 4 KM. Secure 1 = mikes pub radio normal coms Secure 2= mikes pub radio code red (in case I think we need to change if bad guys are listening) Secure 3= House line to my wife Secure 4= House line to my wife code red Secure 5= clear channel (for anybody in recon parties to use) secure 6= clear channel code red(for anybody in recon parties to use) Secure 7= monitoring channel Secure 8= monitoring channel Secure 9= monitoring channel Secure 10= dedicated to trying to contact nursing home. So thats 3 channels that I can listen to any incoming radio channels within 4 km of my position that will now be free of military clutter (at least to me) Also what am I getting on the battle tac uplink, looking to specificaly get the boundaries they have set up. And what the hell they are fighting. |

Locke will set up his helmet transciever the same way as Nick's, if that's possible.
Would Kirstin mind looking after Locke's daughter while they're out, Reign Maker? |

I would nab myself a set of security armor if that stuff wasn't so gosh darn unwieldy. :)
For reference, assume that Gnat was awake, albeit still drunk, during most of the discussions that took place over the night, and conked out again after they're over. |

Ok Locke and Joe will be asigned to secure channel 5! You only get one channel with a tranciever so thats it for the helmets. If you got radios I let you in to secure channel 1 also.
Mike I give secure channels 1 and 2 too and also 5 and 7. Since his comlink can support 4 channels. That gives him 2 channels to talk to me 1 channel to talk to anyone on channel 5 and 7 as a clear searching channel. Just remember if your farther away than 4km from me it turns back to military fuzz. God I think this is gonna give Nick a headache.. or brain cancer... :S Also I made this list while I was bored last night thought I would share it [ Spoiler ] |

A 4th its starting to look like we might make it back :P !!!
Things we should work on OC for a bit. 1)A list of supplies we need. -obviously (food, guns, ammo, armor, electronics, medical supplies) but other things too i.e. electronics cable, sheet metal, chicken wire, duct tape, clothes, fuel, portable generators, things to make demolitions out of, construction materials.... anyone else think of something 2) A layout of stores and buildings on this block, i.e anything worth scavenging and who the hell our neighbors our. 3) Any charecter who has Direct family members still unaccounted for. 4) Any charecter's contacts that could provide helpful, & want to come 5)A defense plan for the block 6)A defense plan for the pub complex 7)A governent system 8 )A logistics set up of how many people are here and how much food and supplies we have to feed them, and how much we need to get per week or month. |

Nice lists Reign! I nominated you IC because of your OOC togetherness. I know Nick doesn't like the boss stuff, but I think he's pretty well suited to it, despite that.
Eric too. Cool headed. Not sure about the rest of you yet. ;) Here's what we need to decide and quick. Because, as it stands, in a couple of hours, since we didn't pick a course of action - Sphynx will advance the game and we will be sitting around twiddling our thumbs. Tell you what. Since my IC post (already posted) is probably one of the last posts before he posts I'm gonna edit it to take us out into the street - but we need to be thinking here of who's calling the shots in combat - NOT IT - and what happens to folks if they don't listen (kicked out of Mike's, smacked on the head). I nominate Reign for OOC command coordination because he seems to have a good grasp and drive to find what the team is good at (with kibitzing by the rest of us, of course) and Frater/Eric for IC command - executing what we decide OOC. And now off to edit my post... |

K I'll lead this combat team out but we are gonna keep it short and sweet.. to the nursing home then to gnats family if we are still a functioning non hurt team we will scavange on the way back. I got 250 mp to store camera footage on so that should be a good primer for the next squad out.... I think we should try to alternate combat positions.. me this time Locke next time. Nine is probabley gonna have to scout on the first few runs ... you know what you need electronicly and i think that should be as high a priority as weapons ammo and food... After you get that youll have to design and build a security sysem for at least the pub if not the block.
The 4 not going on this run start IC discussion of those topics I listed. And limit your movement to only this block... He has given us a hint its clear so far lets keep it that way. Start training everyone in firearms... not the shooting yet well wait to see how much ammo we got but they can start learning how to load the firearms we do have, how to turn safeties on and off. |

Ah, the joys of everyone posting at the same time. Looks like we are overlapping a bit. I didn't think anyone else would be at this time of night. Oh well... the joys of fourm games. :)
Yah, I am good with what has been said. But I do think we should plan things out a bit more carefully and not rush decissions until everyone has had time to post. We have a big group here and it is not fair to move things along in any way until everyone has had time to post their two cents. This isn't a race is it? has Sphynx said that he would move things along for us if we don't? It's a game, a group game, and it's not fair in my opinion to dictate what is going on when not everyone is around (or until they give the ok to do so in the future). As long as the story is progressing, wether through dialogue or action, it should be all good. I mean an IC conversation about what our plans our might take two days IRL to work out, but only 2 minutes in IC. I mean we have already seen miss posts, people showing up (although the original post said we were all here already...) and a lot of people covering the same ground. Wouldn't it work out better if we wait and let everyone catch up and have a say? |

well yes and no... Sparky has played under him before and from what she has said and a few others he likes it fast and rough.... If you don't keep up your gone. So start setting up the recon of the block which is what I wanted you to do.. OC and well you and ES kinda beat me too it IC. But since we would have left 2 days ago by ourselfs.... the posting by others is slowing us down. Im trying to wait for other to catch up I been making lists.
Ok well anyway time to read what you wrote and modify my post some more! And no I dont think your pub is gonna have enough room... but then again I bet there are already flesh form spirits in the pub a day or two and it will be almost empty again....hence taking the whole block and forming a government. As for the 4 man team im leading we walking till we get there if I notice something Ill try to get the group hidden rather than engage if possiable. Heading in the most direct route I can plot with Nines map downloaded to my oreintation system. If I do notie a large vehicle (a bus or passanger van) ill take a closer look. |

Hey, I know what you are saying and I agree. I can post a few times a day if necessary to keep up, but when Sphynx started the game all he asked for was ONE post a day. If the others are sticking to that, becaue of work, intrest, life, etc.. they shouldn't be penalized for make the required one posting. They also shouldn't be left out of the story or decission making (at least until Sphynx makes a call about the situation and lets us know what this game will be like.)
I just don't like the idea of three of us making multiple posts OOC and IC at 1am in the morning that effects the storyline and the other characters. Talking discussing, planning, sure that's fun and fine. But actually taking action, picking a leader and heading out to the streets... That's not cool nor fair to everyone else. |

FYI, Mallet, I didn't ignore your post, but to keep a game going I go by general consensus. If a majority of the people are saying one thing, rather than allow days to go by for discussion, I just fastforward to the part after the discussion, and assuming the general-consensus was the final decision.
As for how fast you guys are going, you're going quite a bit faster than I expected, I don't mind the speed, but you only need to post 1 action a day. I'd like at least 1 action stated, discussion between the team leaves me hanging with no actions declared, so if you're doing discussion posts, you should keep posting until you decide on an action post (within 24 hours of my last post). If you've posted an Action, I won't ever make you feel like I'm rushing you. I only do that when people are sitting around discussing what to do next, and not actually doing anything. :P As for waiting for everyone to post, you should never do that. I guarantee people will idle out for a day or 2 (which is why I say 5 posts a week, not 7). You should aim to be the first one to post everytime because I guarantee you this as well, half of the team is always waiting for someone else to post regardless. Most people lack the get-go to make a decision on their own without following (sorry, it's just human nature, not something to be ashamed of if you think I'm singling you out....). Hope that helps explain a bit more how I handle things. Sphynx |

Reign, you forgot that the corresponging Active skill is a complementary skill to B/R skills. :D
If Nine can rig up the electronics, Locke can build the guns for them, and he would know where to put them for maximum effect, because of his Megacorporate Security and Military Theory knowledge skills. Will there be knowsofts at the sports store, Sphynx? The site you linked has gigabyte (gigapulse of SR) memory cards, so... I have a rigger contact. IF we get our security systems set up, we might want to contact him, if he's still here. Having a security rigger for the bar would make it much more safe. |

Okay then. I noticed that there is a Robotic Toys section.
I'm guessing that this mean that there will be basic drones there? While we're at it, is there a home electronics place nearby? The sort of place that sells thing like dishwashers, clotheswashers, vacuumcleaners, etc. in the modern world? I ask because of Household Drones. Put a few weapon mounts on the things, and they could be freakin' nasty. |

The robotic toys there seem like they'd not help much at all. As for 'other' stores, one step at a time. ;)
