Some days ago i finally got the book. :) The content is very well-written, although i dislike the childish description of the anarchists (surely written by the same guys who were responsible for the stuff in brennpunkt: adl). But guys, most of the art sucks. Look at the simply awful picture at p. 150: what is the huge person supposed to be? A troll? Whack.
Or p. 142, the punk with the strange right eye.
Or p. 63, another example of a weird troll.

Overall i would give the art a 5/10. I really like the cover and some of the interior art, must most is only average at best.

Hopefully Shadows Of Asia will contain some more nicer pieces of work.

I guess I'm indifferent, but may have to agree with you overall just a little. I hate MacDougall, and the troll (Well, it has horns so I guess it's a troll) on 150 looks like a freak. I have no problems with the guy on 142 since his right eye should look weird considering the right side of his face looks like it was damaged in a fight. I don't see a troll on page 63, but the guy leaning gover the corpse does look weird.

There is some good proportion work with trolls, though. The image on page 27 of the troll and ork standing beneath the human at a podium is in good proportion for how big I always thought trolls should be. There's also the image on page 32, where the troll's head is as tall (?) as the torsos of the humans. The tattoo work on the fascist is pretty good, too.

And hey, how often do you get images of ork women that aren't "overly endowed" like in Cannon Companion (?)?

I especially like the images on pages 135 and 137.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the image on page 73.

Some of the artwork is really good. The reclined troll on p. 32 is great. Reminds me of the old days.

I don't know what the Hell is up with the troll on p.150, unless those g-normous breasts need extra-wide shoulders and unproportional head/arms to support them.

Well, childish? I know anarchists who actually believe in this philosophy. They sound PRECISELY like that article. Since these posts are supposed to be subjective, I let that slip by; actually, it adds a bit of flair, in my opinion. :)

Some of the art is great. Some of it is ... well, *I* could do better, and I am by far not a competent, professional artist.

All in all, I would have liked more art in egenral, and would like to see the artist responsible for the p.150 troll not be contacted for any art in the future any more.

It's supposed to be a troll? :D

The pic on p. 137 is awesome, don't why i didn't mention it in my first post. That's the style i like (besides the half-naked elven chick).

The half-naked elf chick is an orc (the elf is the one wearing latex with the anarchist symbol tatooed on her calf). Not being able to tell these two apart is dangerous! Please read up in Paterson's. That will save you a lot of painful bite marks. ;)

I find the elf's breasts too large for her overall slender and frail frame, but otherwise, this is brilliant indeed. That artist definitly should do more SR art!

And the dwarf almost looks as stocky as dwarves should look. Too often, dwarves come across as more like halflings or gnomes in SR art.

Three words: Form fitting armour. :D

Anyway, at least, she's wearing more than the orc.

That is Klaus Scherwinski's work and superb as usual. I'm starting to wonder what kind of armor you people think can be worn in a tropical jungle.

Klaus Scherwinski. Should've known. :)

Hmmm. What did the US soldiers wear in Vietnam? Flak vest, rucksack, body harness and helmet, right? Other than that, air conditioned heavy milspec never fails. :)

And the orc may well be an adept with mystical armour. Those can be hell to crack even stark naked.

Does mystical armor grant a bonus to ballistic armor value? Thought not.

Well, maybe she can deflect projectiles then? What's the English name again ... Geschossmeisterschaft in German ... and I guess she doesn't expect natives to have guns. ;)

We're becoming highly speculative here, don't we? ;)

Maybe she's just a thrill-loving runner chick. Or a cool newbie runner.
