Is there a site with a wider, legal selection of Shadowrun e-books/.pdfs than the "Battleshop" on Battlecorps.com or DriveThruRPG? I've been trying to track down an electronic copy of Man & Machine and I either overlooked it on those two sites or they didn't have it.

I asked Adam about this one at Origins. It's on his to do list, but ... Well, as the srrpg web site indicates, his to do list is fairly long at the moment. And, due to a number of layout issues, the conversion of this one is non-trivial.

Plus, Man and Machine is all 3rd edition - I doubt it ever sees the light of pdf.

Given that 1st ed stuff is coming out in PDF, I somehow doubt that that will be a barrier.

Yeah, but the first edition stuff is all fluff - place and event books. No street sammie cat, rigger black book, shadowtech, etc. I really don't think they'll put the effort into putting old rules heavy books into pdf.
I fact, it was Synners opinion that they'd pull SR3 as soon as SR4 was released. I'd guess they'll pull Matrix, the gm screen, critters, the char dossier, and other rules heavy books - so as to not cause confusion to all the new people buying books. |

That is not the case. It's simple time constraints that have led to some of the SR3 rulebooks not being available in PDF format yet.
[Waiting for the courier to arrive so I can send a 576 page and 496 page book to press... wee!] |

Synner's opinion related specifically to the core SR3 corebook being pulled and it was just that, my opinion. |

Right, which is why I said 'Opinion'. But why would any effort be put into converting rigger3, man and machine, MITS, Matrix, into PDF? If that were dont, that would sorta indicate that Fanpro continues to support the old edition? |

Uh, have you looked at other game companies on DTRPG?
White Wolf has pretty much every book for every edition of WoD available. I don't remember if WotC uses Drivethru, or if they use RPGNow, but you can download pretty much all of the old TSR books. I don't think either of those companies even implies that their current product line is failing by offering PDF's of their older publications. Instead, it boils down to they saw how much this stuff sells for on eBay, and they want their cut. |

Game of Thrones Deluxe Limited Edition and Game of Thrones Standard OGL Edition, for Guardians of Order/Swords & Sorcery Studios.
Gee, I hope I don't have to put any effort into converting MITS and Matrix, considering I've already done so. The plan is still to put all the SR3-era rulebooks online. |

Very cool - how long do you think they'll remain available? Indefinitly? Till SR4's versions hit? Somthing else?

There's little reason for them to not list the 3rd ed books. Just look at all the people here that are alread yswearing up and down that they'll never convert (Resistance is Futile). Heck, I'm still hunting down older books in hard copy. Pdf is a lot easier to find (if a little less gratifying).

Or, to put it another way:
If they can't compete with their own older editions, they'll have fucked up big time. Credit to FanPro for not assuming that right off the bat. ~J |
