Over the weekend I saw part of mythbusters and they were carviing up airplanes at a place called "the bone yard' a spot in the western desert where there are apartenty masses of ruined planes just dumped.
This seemed like a cool place for runners looking for bits and maybe to set up small bases. Sort of guys settingo ut claims, allowing admission for a price. Like "Gee you need that, you might try the bone yard out on I72 but you gotta bring lots a cred to just get in the fence. but also if there are places elsewehere in the world for cars, planes, boats? Anyone know of these? |

Universal Studios used to have a Bone Yard for old props. First time I went to see it, they had some of the old Mad Max vehicles out there and a couple dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. They clean it up too often, though.

There are such places - kinda - for ships, in India and South Africa (Alang in Gujarat is the most prominent of these). There, ships that are no longer deemed feasible are dumped and looted for parts and raw metal by thousands of workers. There also is a place in Vegas where old casino adverts and other shiny things are dumped.
And finally, I bet there're huge dumps for electronics garbage near every sixth world city (or at the very least, there will be in 2070, where all the deckers and riggers ditch their class gear to become shiny new hackers ;) ). |

Why would a Rigger be excited about buying an excalibur? He's not a decker.

With the resale value on those things, anybody should be excited about getting their hands on one.

Well for cars I would think Junkyards would suffice, but if you're asking which is the largest, well the debate seems open. These guys seem like the largest, but a bunch advertise as the largest in the world.
For our down unders here is a ship graveyard. Asia, and I know there are some yards on the west coast and east coast, but not where. A good article on where ships go to die. (I just realized hermit covered this, but I already typed this so sorry.)
