well, i now live in greensboro (i know, bible belt) and i'm having a hard time finding my "friendly local gaming store"™ and was wondering if anyone knew of a site that would maybe have them listed, or if anyone is in the area knows of something nice around north elm by lake jeanette.

thanks everyone

(FWIW: This thread probably belongs in the GM/Players Registry)

Have you tried the yellow pages? You can usually find them under "Games", "Hobby Supplies" and/or "Comic Books".

There's a sci-fi convention in your area that features gaming. On their message board I found a link to this store.

A more generalized FLGS listing would be handy.

Especially since their NJ listing is "No firebases to display".

Try going to gamesworkshop.com and using their vendor locator. Any 9/10 stores that carry Warhammer/40k carry other gaming supplies.

thanks for the replies guys, the reason i didnt put this in gm/players registry is because i've already got one post there looking for a group, and it has seen no action, and since this is more about finding things online, i thought it might be helpful, here ingeneral.

Unless of course you stumble upon one of GWs own stores. Those that only sell GW, but on the other hand have all concievable sort of GW product as long as it's still produced.

Umaa Jubba Cubbba!

Thread necromancy at it's best.

Just want to let anyone thinking of coming to greensboro, that we are officially now Gamestore-less, both of the local ones have closed up in the past couple of weeks, which i found out after visiting YMGGSO, and seeing a for lease sign in thw window. The only other store in town closed recently as well.

rest in peice game stores.

Depending on where in Greensboro you're located, this might be a reasonable drive:
SILVER BULLET COMICS
1539 HANES MALL BLVD.
WINSTON SALEM, NC
(336) 794-3692

For future reference -- hit Diamond Comics. They're the major comic book distributor. Hit the Comic Shop Locator service. Then, look through the list to see which ones carry RPGs. (Acme Comics in Greensboro was on the list, but they don't do RPGs.)

HTH!

heh, thanks for the link, all of three pop up, the two you mentioned, and another in winston-salem, which, i'm gonna have to guess is prolly an hour or so away without mapquestiong.

I just think it'sa really sad that BOTH of the stores closed, especially since they were both within the past few weeks.
