Member No.: 7,473	[ Spoiler ] There's a reference to a Dr. Shalbermat and "Willis" (don't know who that is) in Matrix 2.0. The doctor (yeah, that's a real tough one to crack after seeing the name referenced in the Mitsuhama section of Corporate Fallout) is apparently doing research on people who, in Fourth Edition, are known as Technomancers. Speaking of MCT, the reference is to their new very lifelike robots. I specifically wanted this book for Tree of Liberty, even though I knew it was only a few pages. Despite my pleasure at the ultimate outcome, it was weak and it didn't help that plans I specifically put into action as soon as I heard about it were nerfed when someone reminded me who (or rather, what) the VP's boyfriend is. The fate of the Secretary of Agriculture is also the second most amusing thing I read after James Mancuso's good fortune (Which given the sum total reminds me of the saying, "Be careful what you wish you; you just may get it")

She's dead, Jim. I wouldn't put it past the writers to resurrect her in some Deus Ex Machina (HA!) but the story explicitly states that she ceased to be. Also, as far as Yamatetsu: [ Spoiler ] I don't think that was an obsidiman reference. It could just as well be the fact that Hideo Yoshida changed into a Troll during SURGE with extra-lumpy dermal armor.

Don't you think that if the devs DIDN'T want her to be dead, they would have stepped in and exerted editorial control? Like they've done on occasions when dealing with freelancer fiction? As far as canon is concerned, she's as dead as President Haeffner. *shrugs* Fitting, I think... maybe there is an afterlife for both of them.

Her senses shut down, but that does not preclude them coming back on, especialy where computers are concerned. Maybe someone just turned her hardware off?
