synthacardium and reflex recorder each give +1d6 to a skill...

does this mean that you raise the skill by one? if so, this could effect how much karma it takes to raise this skill by normal means (training ect.) later in the game, right?

or do you just make a note by the skill to add a die when rolling it, keeping the actual level of the skill the same as 'natural'?

'ware does not actually increase the rating of a skill, it just gives you more dice to roll with it.
