So, can medkits and autodocs be used for Medicine tests, as well as First Aid tests? The Street Gear entry for Medkits would suggest otherwise (p329):
It specifically talks about "medical emergencies" and only mentions First Aid. The Autodoc doesn't mention anything of the sort either (p341):
However, if we go to the section on Medicine (p244):
So, if you're shot up bad, and you get your team to drop you off at your pad for a week of hard earnt bed rest, and you crawl into bed, stick yourself with the medkit's nano-injector, whack a biomonitor on, and visit the Metaplane of Nod, do you, or do you not, get the Medicine test? If that works, then alternatively you could stay conscious and treat yourself, assuming your Logic+Medicine is high enough to cancel out the wound modifiers. But does treating yourself count as "rest"? From a realism standpoint, splinting, patching and dosing yourself before collapsing will mean you heal faster, but in game terms, the Medicine test means you're actively using a skill for the entire time, and that's not "rest"... |

I would say not although if you justified it more you could: crawl into bed, stick yourself with the medkit's nano-injector, whack a biomonitor on, and visit the Metaplane of Nod that would be just using the medkits rating for the test. crawl into bed, consult the medkit for a treatment plan then stick yourself with the medkit's nano-injector, whack a biomonitor on and check then adjust the medkits dosage/timing/treatment plan, set the systems alert and alarm warnings to an appropriate volume and sensitivity then welcomingly visit the Metaplane of Nod that would be using both your skill and the medkits and still allowing you the needed rest to actually heal. |

As this is left a bit in the open, for the sake of gameplay and given the advance of medtech, I would say you do. In the worst case, you would have to feed a Medicine Autosoft to the Medkit. |
