If anyone is not familiar with OpenRPG, I suggest you check it out at http://www.openrpg.com. It's a free gaming platform that has special uses like putting down a 2d gridded map, miniatures, fog, whiteboard drawings, and the like for everyone to see, next to a chat window. Very useful for online play of any RPG.
I wrote two plugins for OpenRPG to help SR4 people get together and play games with less tedious bookkeeping and counting puzzles. Anyway, I wrote an SR4 Dieroller (counts hits, thresholds, support for Edge/Rule of Six rolling, and initiative scores) and an SR4 Initiative Tool (keeps track of initiative scores, passes, rounds, can add/change/remove characters on a whim, also does D20). One of the devs mentioned that he might include the tools in a future version. You can find more information about them here: http://forums.rpghost.com/showthread.php?t=35126 - Veggiesama </publicitystunt> |

Our group has been using OpenRPG for about a year. It's a great tool, especially if you are using Voice-Over-IP to communicate. The OpenRPG handles the crunchy bits, while the VoIP handles the communication and roleplaying. There are some things that I wish they would improve (a better whiteboard interface with better drawing tools, for example), but it's pretty sound overall.
