The Azusan Tradition is a Possesson tradition.
The Azusan Tradition is as much as social movement as it is a religous one. Following the precident set by the Azusa Street Revival, modern Azusan practitioners are decidedly anti-racist, accepting people of all metatypes, including the SURGED (rumors even suggest that some Ghouls and Vampires have been accepted into the faith).
Unlike Christian Theurgists, who believe that magic is a natural force without bias towards good or evil, Azusan magicians believe that they are directly touched by the Divine. Their spells are miracles, their spirits are aspects of the Holy Spirit.
Azusan magicians use many of the same sorts of trappings and symbols common to Christian religions: the Bible, prayer, cross or crucifix, holy water, and so on. Their magican lodges are personal shrines that double as places of worship.
Few Azusans have a connection to a mentor spirit. Those that do, decribe encounters straight from the Bible, most frequently with The Burning Bush (Fire-Bringer) or The Virgin Mother (Great Mother).
