Anyway,
this is a thing. As part of the push to the new computer game, they're releasing an anthology of original fiction that ties to the SRR game. It's got lots of big
Shadowrun names in it, writers who made this cool game world we all play in, names like Weisman and Dowd and Stackpole. Rusty Zimmerman and Jason Hardy will be in it, as well.
It's also got a story in it from some guy in Texas no one's ever heard of.

It's kinda neat to be invited to that party. I get to play with the giants whose shoulders I'm standing on.
I thnk it's going to be epic. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose.

Interesting names. Congrats to Critas (Looking very much forward to this one), lots of names from old times that make me sigh woefully about the prospect of new novels, two where I'm mildly sceptical and one I'd have hoped to never see again. But admittedly, I've never read anything from Coleman or Bills, not being in the least interested in Battletech.

Is this for backers only or will it be published aswell?
Seems really cool, I have big hopes for SRR... Not only for the game, but for it's potential to push SR more into the public eye.
It's also nice to see that cyberpunk is getting some love that isn't Deus ex (don't get me wrong Deus ex rocks, but the genre have so much untapped potential)

Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm hoping a version of it will be for wide release, but I can't say for sure since I just don't know.

I think the hardcopy fancy-schmancy version is intended to be backers only. I know folks who preorder it from HBS (the $30 version of the game) can get a pdf of the anthology, not sure on the print run.

You're just upset your name isn't on the list.

i CAN write decent enough stuff, if i can get going . . but that happens only very rarely . . .
i'd rather see your name on the list in addition to Crit, because i like your sense of humor.

I hope it turns out well.
I'll give it a shot since Kenson isn't on there. Not that I wish the guy harm, but his fiction was IMO, just awful.
Hell, I'd probably buy it for Dowd alone, I loved Burning Bright.

Given how well the HBS guys are doing the whole online thing, I'm betting on a Kindle etc release later as well.

I'd take any sort of e-release, though I'd love an actual book. I'm still a physical pages type guy for novels for some reason...
