Here is a Google map that shows most of the meeting points in Seattle from the Seattle Sourcebook, like bars and restaurants and other public locations.
Nothing fancy, but maybe you have some use for it.
Edit:

I'm so not installing a third browser. I nly keep IE around because of the (rare) site that requires it, and will only use it if it's for something official. or that i absolutely need.

Many versions of Opera, by default, sends it's user-agent string to web servers falsely -- it tells the web server that it's IE. I'm pretty sure that there's a plugin for Firefox that will let you spoof your user-agent in such a way, as well.
I'm not sure why the page is designed to only accept IE, though ... Google Maps is compatible with the
following list of browsers, not just IE.

Just for reference, I visited the map using IE for OSX, then saved it as a HTML file to my hard drive and replaced it with my very own Google Maps API key [google maps are somewhat locked to the domain they're hosted on] and opened it in both Safari and Firefox without a problem.

Yeah well. Being a geek is about solving problems, and IMO, something arbitrarily locked to one browser for no fathomable reason is a problem. I think the map is cool and would like to promote it, but I'd like to wait for it to be more useful -- that is, cross browser/platform compatible -- before doing so.

It is very nice, but it's locked in position. no scrolly scrolly N or S, E or W to view surrounding areas. I'm working on getting server space for us to host map data. TNT Mips is proving useful for creating maps based off of GE. GE doesn't allow for producing overlays of non registered info such as GM info for toxic zones & gang territories or marking boundaries of SR world geopolitical boundaries instead of the RL ones.

Sorry about the IE thing, I'll look into it.
It's a work in progress... I'll add more locations every once in a while.
@CeaDawg: Just click into the map and drag it to scroll. You can also double click it to re-center. Zoom is on the upper left.

Played with the mouse drag on the map. It works, but is cumbersome when zoomed in, noticed some of the push pins vanish, & don't refresh in the new location on the screen, when you drag quickly for the full width of the page. This may need to be directed to the Google Maps team instead. I'm going to try generating some other map areas to see if it repeats.

I sent a bug report off to Google. It appears the disappearing landmark issue is within their environment. I first told a friend of mine that works for a GIS company, & he said it's a problem they've been trying to work around for their online atlas.

I can count on one hand the number of non-Microsoft sites that I use that don't display properly in Firefox. For those, I have a nice little extension that adds an "open this page in IE" option to the context menu. How do you browse without tabs, ad blocking, and mouse guestures (extensions required)?
IE 7 will probably incorporate all the things I like about Firefox and other third party browsers, though, so after it's initial burn-in, I may go back. Until the third party folks catch up and surpass again, at least.
I so don't get the "firefox is broke" line, i dont ever see any thing that makes me think "this doesnt look right".

It occurs to me that I could just get a copy of the IE7 beta and look to see what it fixes/breaks. Maybe I'll do that in a bit.

YMMV, but in my experience I have found that most of the cases where Firefox "doesn't work right" its because the site used proprietary extensions to HTML/etc. that are not part of the official standards. One thing the Mozilla people seem to be really careful about is following the actual standards rather than doing whatever they think might appeal to people (or supports their own internal work habits). Thus, in most of those cases, one could argue that it is not Firefox that is broken, but the site you are trying to view.
And more on topic...that Seattle map is spectacular...I'm definately watching for any updates you might make.

I wish it could zoom better so I can pick the dots easier but other then that, great job on what you did, its been really helpful.
Its been a great for our players and has helped them get a better idea of what our GM has been trying to describe to them during game play.
So good job and thanks =)

Many thanks for your feedback.
For deeper zoom levels you have to switch to the other views for now, but I'll work on it some more when I have some time on my hands.

Minor update. I added a
new zoom level to the Borders View, which is a bit more detailed (duh).
I hope you like it.
Edit: You think I should keep up the work, or do you think it's not worth the effort?

Oh, it's most definitely worth the effort. It may end up being that it becomes a team effort due to size & scope, but still worth the effort.

Mar 17 2006, 10:37 AM
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words. Fuels my motivation to keep doing this. I'll try to make this as useful as possible.
As you may have noticed I added some major Gangs to the map, along with more locations. More than 200 now... yay! I also color-coded the locations to make identification a bit easier.
Red is for bars, nightclubs and restaurants,
Teal is for hotels,
Purplish blue is for business stuff like corps and such,
Pink is for government buildings,
Green for medical facilities,
And the dark brownish ones are for general attractions and other miscellaneous stuff.
Mauler
Mar 21 2006, 11:20 PM
Ok, right now there are 322 locations in there, plus the basic gang stuff.
There aren't many canon locations left, maybe 10 or 20 or so.
I'm taking a break for now, but I appreciate any suggestions for improvement.
Platinum
Mar 22 2006, 04:59 AM
That is really really awesome .... is there anything that tells us what source book refers to that point? Is it colour coded somehow? I cannot find the legend.
Mauler
Mar 22 2006, 09:17 AM
The legend for the colors is 3 posts above this one.
Sourcebooks used are the original Seattle Sourcebook with some changes from New Seattle added.
Platinum
Mar 22 2006, 03:19 PM
my apologies. Is there any way to get the legend posted on the site as a layer?

Mar 22 2006, 05:06 PM
Will you be addig the locations from Adam's sig?
Mauler
Mar 22 2006, 10:04 PM
@Paul: Good idea... Maybe I should let the user choose what to display... canon stuff or community stuff or both... the script gets a bit heavy with so many locations, but I'll look into it. I just need a break right now. Maybe Runner Havens will have some changes for me to include, too...
@Platinum: No problem. I'll try to include a legend of some sort in the future.
Paul
Mar 23 2006, 06:06 AM
Yeah we wrote up like 100 plus locations. Feel free to add them, at your leisure. I think this is a pretty damn cool idea, and I have to say I am thankful you did all of the hard work on this-I couldn't, as I don't have the skill. But I'll admire your work and spread word of it.

Apr 10 2006, 09:31 AM
Minor update: I used a frame to add a legend to the map along with the options to hide location and/or gang info. Also, the canon location count is at 334 now.
I'm still looking into adding the TSS locations as an option, but many addresses of the TSS locations are a bit... uhm... difficult to track down.
