After an uneventful breakfast and a few awkward moments as Duena gets greeted by fellow classmates and acquaintances of the intern, she's relieved that none of them actually sit down to talk, making it easy in maintaining her disguise.

The intern's commlink beeps, reminding her its time to head over to the Bio-Engineering building where her ride is going to pick her up. Fortunately, the intern being the meticulous student she is, has the universities map with detailed instructions all included. The location is pretty much on the other end of the campus. Doc waggon funds most of the Medical Centre and associated departments dwarving the Oceanography and other Marine sciences departments run by Universal Omnitech at the water's edge.

Here, the corps run an open campus approach for the sake of students, but to enter buildings requires strict ID access.

Duena

The reminder comes from the intern's commlink and Duena turns off the beeping sound. She exits the Student Union Building then rechecks the map on the commlink so she doesn't get lost then begins the 'trek' to the Bio-Engineering building, hoping the others are either somewhere along the way and won't miss her, or are already waiting near the pick up point.

About 20 minutes later, Duena arrives at her destination. The intern's commlink suddenly beeps again, though only two short bips of 'confirmation' and the building's doorlock turns green indicating that she can now enter. Duena opens the door and after a moments pause she enters.

Aleph

Aleph is seated on an outdoor bench overlooking Portage Bay, idly scanning the local commlink traffic, when his commlink's datajack-linked alarm sends a pulsing chill over his skin. Quieting the sensation with a practiced mental motion, he rises imperiously to his feet, and follows the pulsing arrow to a rendezvous with Duena.

He gives his compatriot a broad smile - despite his invisibility - and falls into step behind her, keeping close as Duena winds her way along the still quiet morning paths. The Medical Centre looms ever-closer, and within minutes, Duena's 'borrowed' commlink sends its credentials to the Bio-Engineering centre's access control system.

Quickly, he steps ahead of Duena and nips through the door she'd opened. Inside, he moves to stand close to the doorway, albeit out of the way of any early-bird foot traffic, and casts his gaze about for a path to the vehicle bay..

Doc Waggon Bio-Engineering Building

Getting into the main Bio-Engineering building is a breeze, confidence begins to turn into concern though as you pass row after row of labs all locked with bio-metric security systems. It makes you feel like you're in a corporate research facility - rather than the open campus you just left. The intern's commlink guides you through an inner set of doors, which open before you, and finally you find yourselves at the rear loading dock. The double doors at the end of the hall, leading into shipping/receiving, feature a hand-print verification console.

A guard wearing a Doc Waggon outifit steps out of the shipping/receiving office, to the right of the double doors, and greets Duena - before she can say a word, he smiles and speaks:
"Don't worry about the security door, Ms. Wilson, head office hasn't programmed your bio-metrics into the database yet, so I'll be letting you in - probably for the rest week - before they finally get it all set up."
He places his hand on the console and the door lock indicates green.
"Van should be here in the next 10 minutes, just watch out for the cargo drone, it's proximity sensors have been a little off lately." He barely waits for an acknowledgement before turning to head back into the office to do paperwork.

Duena

Through every door, Duena maintains the pretense of nerves as she hesitates once each door is open, before passing through and letting the doors re-close behind herself and Aleph.
Sight of the verification console causes her trepidation until the guard explains to her another stroke of luck.

Duena nervously returns the guard's smile as she listens to what he says. Once the door-lock goes green she pushes the door open and once more hesitates before allowing it to close again, hoping the guard sees it as just the nerves of a first day on the job.

Once inside and waiting for the 10 minutes to be up, the guard's words about the proximity sensors of the drone click in and Duena realizes that the sheer dumb luck she has had so far, simply cannot keep going at this rate. She watches for the cargo drone while waiting for her ride, trying not to look more nervous than she had when she first got here.

Aleph

Aleph quietly follows Duena through the building, taking advantage of her exaggerated 'nervous' pauses to slip through open doors in front of her, until they both arrive at the shipping and receiving office.

"... so I'll be letting you in..."

A stroke of good fortune - Duena's biometrics would not have matched those on file for Ms. Wilson, and even Aleph would admit that suborning the security procedures on the fly would be, to say the least, intensely challenging. The portal to the loading bay yawns open, and Aleph furtively sneaks within, turning the guard's last words about the malfunctioning drone over in his mind. He prepares a series of programs on his commlink - to locate any remote maintenance connection on the drone, to hijack its systems and take control of it, and turn that one potential risk into an asset.

He folds his arms and waits for the van to arrive.

The scruffy, blonde haired Mestizo sits leaned forward on his brand new Harley, arms resting idly on the handlebars and a cigarette habitually perched between thin lips, thin smoke trailing from it and regulary seeping from his nostrils after each lazy drag. His eyes wander around as he looks bored, but never stray far from the University building, quietly biding his time until his partners in crime manage to show up with the van they're intending to jack, the key of his bike stuck in the ignition and within easy reach so he can start following when the time comes...

The cargo drone looks like nothing more than a driverless small forklift. It seems to be shifting some boxes around for something big in the far corner... The guy from the shipping receiving office is right about the drone... it nearly runs over Duena's toes once, stops inches from bumping into her another time. 2 or 3 times, it just stops for no reason at all, even with Aleph over by the door - well out of its way. It's quite difficult to judge it's motions, they seem nearly erratic. The guard is busy doing paperwork, there is a thick glass window looking into the shipping receiving office. The main partition is closed, so he probably doesn't hear what's going on in the loading dock. The university, or Doc Waggon for that matter, seems to have added the loading dock as a second thought, the office window isn't facing the 2 back overhead doors, and - unless he stands at the window - he can't even see them from the desk. There's a good possibility that - if quiet - you might pull this off without him even noticing.

Four agonizingly long minutes have past, and - though it's early - you feel like you've been waiting here for ages for the van to arrive. The anxiety is pretty high.
Finally you hear Bulldog pull up to the far bay. As the door rolls up, 2 people step out pushing a large bioscanner - the ones that take a full 3D image of the body - out of the van... Both male, one of them is an Amerind human, the other a well-tanned elf.
As if on cue the loader drone zips over to the truck and picks up the wheeled pallet. The 2 men swear at the drone that nearly bumps into them. Then they scramble frantically as the loader zips around, nearly sending the expensive equipment crashing to the ground!

The commotion brings attention to the guard in the shipping office, who momentarily steps up to the window and peers sideways to see what's going on. A few tense heartbeats later he shakes his head, and it looks like he chuckles, before returning to his desk...

It takes a couple of minutes before the men are satisfied the drone isn't going to break anything before the elf of the two approaches Duena with a friendly smile on his face.
"Andrea Wilson?" he askes. You detect a slight latino accent, which compliments his tanned complexion.

As the van's occupants struggle with their heavy piece of medical equipment, Aleph sets two simultaneous courses of action into motion.

Firstly, he begins moving carefully around the edge of the room, weaving between solid-looking crates of equipment, and giving the two workers and their robotic colleague a wide berth. His goal is the open back door of the van, and to slip silently within while the workers are distracted by Duena.

Secondly, he examines a series of captured command and response packets exchanged between the drone and the computer which controls it. Scrutiny of these pellets of data reveals a pattern, used by the system to prevent people from doing what Aleph is about to attempt to do. Constructing an ersatz command packet, he plots out a circuitous route for the hapless drone, one which will cause it to nudge the most precarious of the stacked items in the dock. He keeps hold of this new command, ready to use it if the situation demands a little extra cover for his subterfuge.

Duena

Aleph has his task to perform, Duena focuses on just continuing to be someone else for the moment knowing that Django is waiting.

Duena is relieved when the truck arrives and watches the men as they take their turn contending with the wayward drone. She isn't sure whether to try to help the men, but does not want to intentionally put herself in the drone's way either so takes a step away from the trouble as she waits to see how it pans out.

Since Duena is watching the men and the drone she is not paying attention to the guard, but as she is approached by the elf she glances nervously to the window the guard is no longer at. She politely returns the smile and nods affirmatively when asked if she is Andrea Wilson. She takes a step forward and hopes neither of these people has spoken to Ms. Wilson over the phone, "I am."

The elf looks towards the van after a movement at the corner of his eye catches his attention, though he shrugs it off when Duena speaks.
His smile broadens as his assumptions are correct - well it was a pretty easy guess, seeing as she's the only one here, but weirder things have happened...

"I am Carlos Rodriguez, and I'll be taking over your training for today. Chuck won't be on shift today, he's not much for weekends." and the elf winks - some kind of internal joke obviously - seeing as the other man chuckles slightly.
"This here is Sam Bullfeather, or you can just call him 'Bull'. The Amerind does a mock snorting sound with his nose and grins.

Carlos looks to where the pallet was placed with a touch of worry on his face - glancing at the drone meandering it's way dangerously close to a stack of crates.
"Well, bearing that Zippy there doesn't ruin anything," he thumb-gesters towards the drone, "I think we're set to go!... if you're ready we'll be on our way, I'll introduce you to the rest of today's team while on route."

He bows slightly and, with a 'lady's first' gesture of the arms, allowing Duena to go into the van first.

Aleph doesn't pay a huge amount of attention to the medtechs' banter, though the revelation that they'll also be riding in the truck gives him cause for concern. He steps up, as quietly as he can, into the back of the truck, and moves to the far end of the cargo area.

He remains standing, so he can easily move out of the way of embarking DocWagon employees, but casts about for handholds for when the truck begins to move.

Duena

Duena gives a half-nod to each of the men as they are identified to her, and a momentary quizzical look to Carlos for his quip about Chuck. She doesn't actually care to have Carlos even try to explain the joke so Duena drops the questioning glance quickly. When Bull snorts she gives a half-smile of amusement.

While Carlos is worrying about the safety of the just delivered gear around the malfuntioning loader, Duena hopes Aleph is able to complete his intended actions and get into the van. She nods to Carlos about further intros en route.

Duena is mildly amused as Carlos get chivalrous and she moves toward the van to get in. Inside she pauses about midway of traversing the cargo area in order to see if she is expected to sit somewhere in particular.

Doc Waggon Delivery Van

The van isn't exactly a luxury vehicle. Facing the front, to your right side is a series of shelves. The shelves are flip-up lip so as not to lose their contents, and can hold 15 cu cm boxes or smaller - perfect for most pharmaceuticals.
The back quarter is one large open area with netting to fit larger boxes that do not fit on the shelves.
To the left is a long bench, comfortable enough for 4 people to sit side by side. There are even roll down crash cages should the van's ride suddenly become turbulant. The van does not look very troll friendly.
The front of the cargo area is occupied by a small metal door which leads to the driving compartment, the door is currently shut, though a small window shows a very bored driver and passenger who are idly drinking soy-caf while waiting for the crew to embark.

"It's not exactly first class accomodations Ms. Wilson, but it gets us to work every day." Carlos says with a smile. "Can I call you Andrea?" He asks this hesitantly. Obviously, by Ms. Wilson's character profile, she tends towards the professional side when it comes to relations with co-workers.
Carlos and Bull wait for Duena to sit down before seating themselves.

Aleph finds a spot to squeeze in easy enough without drawing any attention, there are hand holds and posts designed to hold netting in various places. The netting has been neatly folded into storage bins for easy access.

The 2 people in the cab seem oblivious enough to what's going on in the back that you could probably take Carlos and Bull out without them noticing.

DocWagon Delivery Van

Things have been going fairly smoothly so far, Aleph thinks to himself, but we're entering the phase of the mission where the plan will be tested by contact with non-deterministic elements... The workers and driver, that is, who probably can't be relied upon to obediently collapse into a neatly-stacked pile. He checks the safety of his gun, and slides out its clip of stun slugs. definately some left. he tells himself. Ready for the moment they need to launched into their brief but - pardon the pun - shocking careers.

He calms himself, as the truck begins to move, by concentrating on a field much more in line with his experiences - namely, electronic warfare. A mere couple of seconds of commlink work, and he's tapping in to the van's radio communications with the outside world. A simple locator beacon - he transmits an encrypted packet describing its frequency and encoding to the team's muscle, so he can track and intercept it more easily - and a connection to GridGuide.

The plan, then:
  • Determine whether or not the vehicle is using its automated pilot. If so, prepare an 'alternative' route that'll pull it up in an alley somewhere outside of the more dense regions of Seattle.
  • Block the workers' radio transmissions, so they can't call for help. He runs a finger along the smooth plastic of his comm jammer - ready to go.
  • Zap the two workers, and the drivers.
  • Get 'Blondie Angel-Eyes' in the van - in the driving seat, if he wants
  • On to the facility!

He leans back against the wall, gripping one of the van's support poles in one hand, and gets down to the serious business of Unauthorised Systems Access.

Aleph grins to himself, as the van's link to GridGuide easily falls under his control. He directs the van to make a turnoff onto a side road not too far from the facility, and beams the altered route plan to his biker teammate.

Here goes nothing... he thinks, and raises his pistol, lining up his Smartlink crosshairs on the elf, and squeezing the trigger. Buenos noches, Carlos. Wasting no time, he swings his aim to put Bull in his sights, and looses another stick-and-shock round.

Carlos looks up as the 'twip' sound of a silenced pistol draws his attention, the stick'n'shock round lands smack dab above the bridge of his nose. As he starts to spasm from the electrical charge in the round, Bull turns to his partner, reaching for his gun...
He barely gets his hand on the weapon when Aleph's second shot lands on his exposed neck. Bull grabs for the shot, like one would smack a mosquito.. his actions aren't fast enough though, the electrical surge this close to his spinal column makes him stiffen suddenly as all his muscles tense up. Bull collapses to the floor of the van, twitching a couple of times before finally lies still and unconcious.

"Everything fine back there?" comes a voice over the internal speaker. "I though I heard a noise..."

Still lounging on his Harley Davidson near the university building, Django perks up a bit as he receives the transmission from the team's 'Data Specialist'. A smirk creeps up on his chiseled features, and he promptly tosses away the cigarette he was undoubtly smoking. He shifts on the bike, keying the ignition and reving the engine, and takes off towards the ambush site...
