How long will a registered service 'serve'

If I send one to guard a friends commlink (attack any unauthorized persona's), how long will it carry this out?

Nothing I can find states.

Now considering it is eating up my precious bound sprites = charisma limit, one side of me thinks 'forever' (or until conditions change: (like I need to change orders, he gets a new commlink, etc)

The other side says this seems a long long time .....

Did I miss something in the rules.... if not what are peoples house rules.
