I don't have my Runner Havens with me. I guess all those Puget Sound islands are called Outremer now or something, but the largest island in the Sound is Vashon Island, and it'll still be called that.
Not sure if it is officially part of the Metroplex or Salish, but assume that her address is still administered by Seattle.
It is in Vashon Heights, on the northern tip of the island.
As you can imagine, it is an extremely upscale community.

Cool. I would have imagined that she and Cal and their Earthen friends were all holed up in some commune or co-op or something, but I do recall you telling me a long time ago that Deerwalker was a spoiled rich kid who liked protesting things. That, or she and Call suddenly hit the jackpot.
Just so we're on the same page, as far as Adam recalls, did she always live off campus or do I remember her and Cal living closer to the earth before they went Prime Time?
I'll put together another IC response, and maybe move forward the requested 2 hours (calling u pthe team ,etc), but I'll plan on the meeting with her taking place later that night - so well within the 24-hour planning period.

You never knew exactly where she lived - she "stayed" a lot of places. But you always knew she came from money.
You are unaware of any of the Earthens actually living "close to the earth." Tried to make clear in earlier ICs that they almost never practice what they preach regarding transportation, diet, or whatever, unless it just happens to be convenient for them to do so (in which case they wear it on their sleeve). All the ones you know where they live, they just live in houses or dorm or whatever they can individually afford.

Yeah, I remember that, now. Good to know. IC up.
(Been about a week since Adam last saw them, been about a year since they've come up IC.

As for the message to the team. If its convienent, I'm thinking we'll plan to meet up around dinner time, baring Plot - if for no other reason than to figure out where everyone is going next, explain that its okay to come out of hiding, and maybe talk about how much action we want to take on, and the possibility of pooling some of our resources. If we can do some team-building, that would be great, too.

So what is the time of day that the 36 hours ends again?
Sledge is probably going to cut out and go for a motorcycle ride, after checking Fortunato has recovered as best as can be.
While out and traveling around she's going to start casing jobs focused on stealing gear that's on her shopping list. Unsophisticated, but she's got to start somewhere. Probably commercially available items such as enhanced eye and ear ware is easiest to begin with.
And find a coffin hotel or tow, and a set of storage lockers to store some stuff. Hmm, which reminds me that it might be a good idea to ask Fortunato IC if he can ward a storage locker.

Well as sad as it sounds Rocky doesn't have much going on outside the motel room & the team at this point. The fact that he has no transportation of his own and a fairly recognizable face doesn't help any either.
The couple things he wants to look in to, (The plastic surgery & checking on his parents) can't really be addressed for for now.
So unless they get kicked out or someone kicks the door in Rocky will hang out at the hotel and try to relax/meditate to help fight off the bad days he's knows are coming from not taking his pills till Smith shows up for the meeting.

Can't tell if you are joking or not, but no, driver's license does not have to be tied to a vehicle.
Of course legally purchased vehicles have registrations of their own (the van, by the way, broadcasts a legal reg...I have assumed Angel has been spoofing it along with all your comms).

-Cerberus can drive the van but he would be at -2 for any tests because its not fitted for a troll right?
-Are you going to choose our names for our new SIN's or do you want us to?
-How long would it takes to go from the truck stop to Davey's and back? Apparently we werent using addresses back in the old days. So I dont have an actual address for Davey Anderson's weapon shop.
-I've asked and read about this in other threads but i still dont know the definate answer. Do I have to have a rigger control rig or have a rigger modified vehichle in order to use DNI commands on a vehicle??
All I want is to be able to do is sit in a chair or touch a steering wheel and be able to manually control the vehicle. I am not wanting to "jump in" or use a command program to issue commands.

You have two options, Abbandon, with the van:
1 - You can input the destination into the van's computer and it can drive itself (All driving tests are rolled by the van)
2 - You can use manual controls by personally manning the steering wheel, gas and brakes (You have to roll all driving tests using your own stats)
Abbandon
Dec 20 2007, 11:38 AM
Theres more than that. How did riggers connect to vehicles with a datajack and fiber optics work in previous editions? What did they use/need?
I have DNI/datajack access to everything i tough.
Can I turn/accelerate/stop a vehicle with mental commands without a control rig or rigger box in the vehicle. I would be looking out the windows with my own cybereyes. I wouldnt "be" the van.

As of right now you have a DNI and Cold SIM, based off your character sheet on the wiki.
With that, you not only have the two options I previously listed, but you can also go into VR and control the vehicle with a command program. This way is basicly issuing alot of commands at once to control the van like a video game. The good thing is you dont have to be in the front seats to do this and you can see through the van's camera with no penalty.
You dont even really need a strong command program to do this, but better program/commlink = more hits on the command roll and a better response from the van.
It's up to Adamu if you can completely jack into the van and run it like a rigger without a control rig. The control rig description only says it gives a +2 to all tests when jacked it, but nothing says you cant jack in without it.
The major reason why Caittie hasnt bothered with it is because jacking in makes all rolls go off your personal stats and Caittie has crap stats compared to what the Van has as a base. She usually lets her Sprites do that, since they have a better dicepool. Cerberus has not that ability.
As for you, I would just have Cerberus tell the van where he wants to go and let the van do the driving, or manually drive the van yourself.

Page 61 first column last full paragraph specifies that as long as there is no change to neural functionality, appearance changes through biosculpting carry NO essence cost.
So there it is in black and white, whatever one might otherwise guess based on the "minor" and "moderate" modification descriptions.
So consider all simple personal appearance alteration (within normal parameters for your metatype) to fall under "minor" for rules purposes.

Until such time as you get a seat mod, YES.

You are free to choose them yourself.

No address back in the old posts, huh? Well, thanks for looking. Reckon his shop is probably in the northern end of the downtown district (not the downtown core). Somewhere a block or so off of 99 a bit north of Green Lake. So maybe 45 minutes to an hour from where you are.

In earlier editions you could do this and get a bonus for it. No mention I know of in the new BBB. And they have scaled back the control rig quite a bit, almost to the bonus you used to get just for driving by datajack. There may well be an official answer to your question in Arsenal. Until then - Yes, you can drive by DNI. This will give you access to the vehicle's sensors (to the level of your upload medium - AR, cold sim, hot sim) and leave you hands free (as long as you have the means to maintain your interface). But no other bonuses. As Konsaki noted, you also have the option of driving by autopilot - although anything more complicated than point A to point B will require a command test. |
See in-line.

None of my family or friends care about fighting. I like fighting, I used to be into boxing but then MMA started hitting the main stream and now I just cant stand to watch wrestling or boxing.
My only complaint is the Ultimate Fighting Championship's which is what you were probably watching runs there fights like boxing. They just toss random dudes into the ring and randomly match up people. I think the sport would be alot more exciting if it was in a tourament format where there was set guys who had to fight each other a set amount of times. Like soccer or football or baseball.

Everything you posted so far is fine.
You made a lot of assumptions regarding things like price, and Davey's attitude toward your situation with Smithers.
But that is more than cool - it keeps things moving for us, and I know you understand some of that might have needed editing.
Way to post and get things done.
So like I said, everything so far is cool with me - although I'd appreciate it if you'd fix one typo - you referred to "Mr. Smith" which is Johnson, when I am pretty sure you were talking about Ezekiel SMITHERS. Just because it's confusing I'd be grateful if you'd fix it.
As for Davey's response from this point regarding the RFID work (and maybe some other things), please give me an Etiquette test and a Negotiation test. Just give me the raw Charisma + Skill rolls, I'll work out the mods later.

Oooops I read the IC first lol. I will go edit out all the other stuff. I will put the other stuff I wrote in here so you can maybe include it in your post because I did do more than just go home.
Original Post
[ Spoiler ]
Cerberus could not hide the disappointment from his face, "Dude I wish I could buy that off you but I am severely strapped for cash right now. Maybe later when im back in the black. Thanks for the info about cleaning weapons, sounds like you will be getting alot of business from me. Well thanx for the ammo but I have to jet, I have appointments to keep. See you around Davey."
Davey laughed at Cerberus's exuberance and nodded, "See you later kid". Cerberus made sure nobody could see into the bag and then walked out of the backroom into the front and out the front doors nodding to the two kids behind the desk. Walking back to the van he pulled out his comm and flipped it open and turned it back on and set it to active and then popped the door to the drivers side door of the van. Looking at the clock in his field of vision [1:15 pm(colored yellow) he knew it would be tight whether or not he could get back to the truck stop by 2:00pm when he told everyone he would be back. Pulling his shades out of his front jacket pocket he slipped them on and started the van and headed back to the truck stop.
He hoped Johnson had some plans for living arrangements or something for the team. It didnt make much since for everyone to live on their own and have to deal with all kinds of variable. They would also be alot more vulnerable if they all lived off on their own. As he thought about the meeting that was suppose to happen tonight his train of thought was shattered by ginormous AR advertisment that hovered over the city streets. It advertised the new release of a massively popular online virtua game called Halo 3050.
The advertisment flipped from different people talking about their favorite weapons to live footage of people riding vehichles, flying vehichles, and shooting all kinds of weapons is a massive organic battlefield with hills and streams and buildings. It almost made him slam the van into the back of a car in front of him that was stopped at the lights but the collision alert system reached him just in time. His heart was beating faster and he realized he almost just commited suicide if he had actually crashed and had the cops show up, but he still couldnt let go of how freaking cool that game looked and what it would be like to be in a 50vs50 player battle.
He made a mental note to look into some online entertainment, that crap was probably so real it might actually work as training, and then focus intently on making it back to the truck stop safely. As he pulled into the parking lot and parked in front of their room his clock read 1:58 pm(colored yellow). Walking up to the apartment door with his bag of goodies he wished they would have had this meeting at Club Rain or something so they could get some food and entertainment while they talked biz but whatever. He had learned his lesson about distractions today.
Knocking on the door and walking in he began to plan out the next few hours until the meeting. Gotta load the ammo into the clips, then im gonna see how much these online game thingies are....

Cash rare but not shocking for legal transactions (some places may not be set up to accept it, though). It is much more common, however, in the underground economy.
