...hokay, sending some feelers out.
Currently I am part of a really small group (3 - 4) who trade of GM duties here in Portland OR. For the most part we have been working though the SR4 ruleset & running one shots to exploit certain parts of the rules (eg hacking, magic, rigging etc).
I still have an interest though in running a second playtest of my previous SR3 campaign Rhapsody in Shadow with a different group of players. I originally was intending the campaign as an adventure/setting submission but things were cut short when FanPro announced SR4.
Considering that there is still a segment of players/GMs who prefer to stick with the SR3 rules, and are even expanding on them (SR3 Revised, SOTA 2065) I decided to revive and slightly retool the campaign arc. It originally occurred in the years just prior to Crash 2.0 and had the potential to extend into the "transition" era. The campaign is primarily intrigue driven, but knowing PCs will be PCs, there is always plenty of opportunity for action as well. I will be implementing several house rules and, as with most of my campaigns, there is a slight divergence in canon to the "official" one.
This is a fairly detailed (and quite dangerous) campaign that also involves a few "sensitive" themes. So, I am looking for experienced players who are into role playing as well as rolling dice.

...update.
Currently there are four players/characters now committed to participating in the Rhapsody in Shadow "second run". Still looking to recruit a fifth team member since this is the optimal team size for the mission. The campaign takes place in Europe so the character should be based from the region. This is also a very intrigue based campaign so the ability to blend in (no surgelings or variants) is very important.
Roles already filled:
Weapons Specialist/ex merc
Rigger
Mage
Face/Adept
Areas not covered:
Covert Ops Specialist
Decker
Of course, there is always room for another Sammy (never can have too many).

If I was familiar with SR3 I'd love to do the team's spook, but I can't do the commute, am not very experianced, and I might be moving for a summer job soon (fingers crossed). A webcam and skype a'la
Full Frontal Nerdity would work with some pre planning.
I can get sr3 books but I would need a
pre crash
2.0 course

...unfortunately while I do use a notebook computer to assist in my GM duties (kind of my "electronic GM screen"), I do not have the tech to do the webcam link.
Several members (one who is a RL tech wiz) of my old group considered doing an in-house net so that private messages from GM to player can be sent without alerting the other players something is up. But other than that, full vid conferencing is a bit beyond the scope of things at this time. I would almost need a second machine so I didn't have to switch between the game data and vid feed.

I don't think your computer would need to do much of anything for the webcam, just have broadband internet. The cam would be for me to see and hear the group/table. I'm pretty sure I could get one that is controlled remotely over the internet. Of course the whole thing would be at least a minor pain dealing with the gm rolling for himself and a player.

...unfortunately (again) I do not have broadband (too bloody expensive, particularly the way Comcast bundles it). Where I live Wireless is fairly widespread and is free. I also do not have a desktop system and am not even sure how to hook up a web cam to my notebook.
As to play management, I have an SR3 Dice programme which makes child's play of dice rolling (also doesn't tip off the players when something is about to happen).
BTW may I ask, where are you located?

I'm in Salem. I did a dnd game for a short while off of Johnson Creek blvd and the commute was too much, even for I think an every other week game. The summer job would be in alaska if I get it and there is wireless broadband up there. Should hear back any day now.
Webcams are usually a single usb plug and have a screen or table mount to prop them up. No special equipment required.
I'm not trying to convince you to do something you don't want to mess with, just pointing out what there actually is to mess with.

...I hear you on the travelling, I used to commute from Olympia to Seattle on a regular basis for a Champions game back when I was in college. Then after moving to Portland I made the trek up to Olympia to do SR on a 2 - 3 week basis. Does get a bit old after a while.
The tech info is actually much appreciated, I am not sure that wifi supports RT vid. Right now Free vs. about 50$ per month (+ installation & start up fees) is, in the words of Tom Peterson, "...a very good price"

...just a note: The Rhapsody team is complete and we are underway. Thanks to all who responded to this post, Nathanross's post, and various PMs.
There may be a R.i.S dedicated campaign thread down the road as events develop.
