Sorry, no info on English releases...
- SOX is in the final editing and layout stages. It should go to the printers soon and be available in stores in early March. A full-color version of the SOX map from this book will be included in the upcoming #13 of Multimania magazine.
- The first chapters of Emergence have arrived and translation has begun. A release date will be set once the complete book has arrived.
- Planning for the next German-only release is starting. There may be first informations in the March newsletter.
- All entries of the last SR movie competition are now available.
- A new SR4 adventure called "Wölfe im Schafspelz" (Wolves in sheep's clothing) by known novelist André Wiesler is available for download.
This is actually the first adventure from the campaign part of the German SOX book! (The full campaign consists of six adventures.)

Okay, time for my semi-usual stupid question: What is the "SOX" book?

It's a book about the SOX.
It's special German only sourcebook. Damn them...

It's a new entry in FanPro D's "Hot Spot" line (city sourcebook + mini-campaign). The first was "München Noir".
SOX is short for "Saar-Lorraine-Luxembourg Special Administrative Zone" - the walled-off irradiated area created when the Cattenom power plant exploded in 2008.

Not entirely true.
SOX is a collaboration between FanPro of Germany and Black Book Éditions of France. The book will be published in both French and German, with the same source material but two different campaigns (aimed at French and German runners respectively).

Grinder, I'm really going to have to get some money together and pick those two up. I know we've talked about it, but I'm definitely wanting to do this. Just as soon as I get some $. Penta's talked about doing some translating work before to. We should really get going on these when they come out.

Did you hear that thumping sound? It's the sound of everyone else taking one step backward.

This year there are only two participants, with a third movie that isn't really shadowrun.
Szilard 2029 isn't to bad, but plays almost exclusively in a forest, which doesn't feel very SR-like.
Access denied has a typical SR storyline and a pretty high chick factor

. I didn't once have the urge to shut it off, like I did after watching a few minutes of
Gyros und Banane gegen den weissen ninja,
Gyros and Banane vs the White Ninja.

I thought I remembered it being you. I can't recall where it was, but I talked with someone, a year or two ago sadly, about wanting to translate Shockwellen. Apparently it was someone else.

Which was of course super-extremly secret before you posted it, or should have been...if somebody would have removed this info from the adventure itself...

But are they going to have the german and french SOX books available here in North America, or will we have to order them from Europe?
fistandantilus4.0

well you can always order them, through the wonders of the internet. Just have to pay more for shipping.

I took that as a nice but evil marketing thing:
"Here's a nice adventure for you! Free! But if you want to know how the whole story ends - buy the book!"

That is why I am hoping that they will be available in NA, but am expecting them to be only available in Europe and need those oh so nice shipping and handling charges.

One should point out that the background fiction (so one half of the book, the other is the campaign) was written in english and then translated in German and French.

So, is there any chance that the english part will be available in NA?

Probably as a PDF download on Holostreets if it ever starts.
I don't know what has been decided officially, but my guess is that the situation is comparable with the unreleased SoLA.

With the experience on the SoLA, perhaps it comes on Battlecorps or somewhere else. But I don't think, you'll get an english print version.

Well, same as us buying US books in Europe. The decent RPG shop buy a lot of them, but still it's sometimes quite expensive (€ being strong against the $ helps here though).
But, for the French one, I'll be disturb if you can't find it in Quebec for example.
